Purpose: To explore preferred and experienced roles and their congruence among Chinese cancer patients in decision making with their doctors and families.

Methods: We used the adapted Control Preferences Scale to identify preferred and experienced roles of patients in decision-making. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to evaluate the effects of cancer types and family involvement on patients' decision-making roles with doctors.

Background: Recent setbacks in malaria control in Comoros demand a reassessment of its evolving epidemiology.

Methods: Using the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) Study 2021 data, we analyzed malaria trends from 2010 to 2021, stratified by sex. We quantified the contributions of demographic and epidemiological factors to these trends and identified risk factors for malaria-related disability-adjusted life years (DALYs).

Liver metastasis can occur in a wide range of cancers and have a significant impact on patient survival and prognosis. Once liver metastasis occurs, patients often lose the opportunity for surgery, and although a small percentage of patients can undergo hepatic resection to prolong survival, the benefit is not great. There were also many factors affecting liver metastasis, including reprogramming of the primary tumor metabolism, disturbances in the immune microenvironment and immune cells, alterations in the gut microbiota, and epigenetic changes.

Objective: Epigenetic alterations are critical regulators in the progression of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD); however, the dynamic epigenomic landscapes are not well defined.
