Congruence of cancer patients' desired and achieved decision-making roles between self, doctor and family: a cross-sectional multi-site survey.

Purpose: To explore preferred and experienced roles and their congruence among Chinese cancer patients in decision making with their doctors and families.

Methods: We used the adapted Control Preferences Scale to identify preferred and experienced roles of patients in decision-making. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to evaluate the effects of cancer types and family involvement on patients' decision-making roles with doctors.

Changes in Malaria Patterns in Comoros from 2010 to 2021: A Comparative Study with Sub-Saharan Africa.

Background: Recent setbacks in malaria control in Comoros demand a reassessment of its evolving epidemiology.

Methods: Using the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) Study 2021 data, we analyzed malaria trends from 2010 to 2021, stratified by sex. We quantified the contributions of demographic and epidemiological factors to these trends and identified risk factors for malaria-related disability-adjusted life years (DALYs).

Development and validation of a pathological model predicting the efficacy of neoadjuvant therapy for breast cancer based on RCB scoring.

Introduction: Breast cancer has become the most prevalent malignant tumor among women globally, posing a serious threat to women's life and health. Neoadjuvant therapy (NAT) has emerged as one of the standard treatment approaches for breast cancer patients. However, due to varying responses to NAT among different patients, significant differences in treatment effectiveness occur, impacting the timely alteration of treatment strategies for patients.

Progress of IL-10 and liver metastasis.

Liver metastasis can occur in a wide range of cancers and have a significant impact on patient survival and prognosis. Once liver metastasis occurs, patients often lose the opportunity for surgery, and although a small percentage of patients can undergo hepatic resection to prolong survival, the benefit is not great. There were also many factors affecting liver metastasis, including reprogramming of the primary tumor metabolism, disturbances in the immune microenvironment and immune cells, alterations in the gut microbiota, and epigenetic changes.

Identification of IL-34 and Slc7al as potential key regulators in MASLD progression through epigenomic profiling.

Objective: Epigenetic alterations are critical regulators in the progression of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD); however, the dynamic epigenomic landscapes are not well defined. Our previous study found that H3K27ac and H3K9me3 play important roles in regulating lipid metabolic pathways in the early stages of MASLD. However, the epigenomic status in the inflammation stages still needs to be determined.

Background: Medical decision-making is a complex multi-stage process. Chinese cancer patients' preference for participation in decision-making stages, family involvement and influencing factors remain unclear.

Methods: A total of 1,422 cancer patients from four tertiary hospitals in China were included in the cross-sectional survey.

The effect of cytokines on osteoblasts and osteoclasts in bone remodeling in osteoporosis: a review.

The complicated connections and cross talk between the skeletal system and the immune system are attracting more attention, which is developing into the field of Osteoimmunology. In this field, cytokines that are among osteoblasts and osteoclasts play a critical role in bone remodeling, which is a pathological process in the pathogenesis and development of osteoporosis. Those cytokines include the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) family, the interleukin (IL) family, interferon (IFN), chemokines, and so on, most of which influence the bone microenvironment, osteoblasts, and osteoclasts.

Chronic spinal cord injury (CSCI) results from progressive compression of the spinal cord over time. A variety of factors cause CSCI, and its exact pathogenesis is unknown. Cyclin-dependent kinase 1 (CDK1) is closely related to the apoptosis pathway, but no CSCI-related studies on CDK1 have been conducted.

The performance of sensorless control in a permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) highly depends on the accuracy of rotor position estimation. Owing to its strong robustness, phase-locked loop (PLL) is widely used in rotor position estimation. However, due to the influence of harmonics existing in back electromotive force (EMF), estimation error occurs by using PLL.

[Treatment of scapular fractures with lateral incision and bridge combined internal fixation system].

Objective: To investigate the clinical results of scapula fractures with lateral incision combined with bridge internal fixation system.

Methods: From October 2012 to December 2016, 20 cases of scapular fractures were treated through the lateral incision combined with bridge fixation system, including 15 males and 5 females, with an average age of 31.6 years old(ranged, 21 to 52 years old).
