Herein, we have successfully synthesized bisphosphine-protected gold nanoclusters with a distinctive Johnson solid kernel, which serve as efficient and recyclable heterogeneous photocatalysts for visible-light-driven three-component radical couplings in Fukuyama indole synthesis. In contrast to conventional gold complexes, the newly developed cluster-based catalysts can be easily photoexcited to their triplet states by visible light, enabling single-electron transfer with -acyl oximes, a hitherto unexplored class of electrophiles in gold photocatalysis.

Background: The prognostic significance of small left ventricle (LV) in the general population and its association with cardiovascular disease remain elusive.
Methods: Using data from the UK Biobank, 39 363 participants underwent baseline cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging and were categorized into 3 groups based on left ventricular end-diastolic volume index: small, normal, and large LV. Cox proportional hazards models were applied to evaluate the association between LV size and composite cardiovascular outcomes.

Background And Aims: Since the discovery that auto-reactive anti-αvβ6 integrin antibodies are associated with ulcerative colitis, cells from the B cell lineage, especially plasmablasts and plasma cells have increasingly come into the focus of research on inflammatory bowel disease. However, the mechanisms regulating their recruitment from the circulation to the gut remain poorly understood. Here, we explored whether the B cell-specific lectin CD22 interacts with endothelial α2,6-linked sialic acid residues attached by ST6GAL1 to mediate such recruitment in IBD.

While recent research has focused on developing neuron models and leveraging temporal dynamics to enhance performance, there is a lack of explicit studies on neuromorphic datasets. This research aims to address this question by exploring temporal information dynamics in SNNs.

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of a novel system called contrasted enhanced ultrasound thyroid imaging reporting and data system (CEUS TI-RADS) for benign and malignant thyroid nodules. We also seek to assess inter-observer agreement.
Methods: The study recruited 433 patients who underwent thyroid ultrasound (US) and CEUS between January 2019 and June 2023 at Affiliated Hospital of Guangdong Medical University.
Pentacyclic triterpenoids, as important representatives of natural products, have garnered widespread attention due to their diverse biological activities, including anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and antitumor effects. Oleanolic acid (OA), betulinic acid (BA), ursolic acid (UA), triptolide, and glycyrrhetinic acid (GA) are typical examples of pentacyclic triterpenoids. Despite their significant biological activities, their poor water solubility and low bioavailability have limited further development and application.

Despite recent advances in cluster-based catalysis for organic synthesis, the substrate scope of reactions catalyzed by metal nanoclusters is typically not superior to previously established catalytic systems. Herein, we develop new atomically precise copper nanoclusters for protosilylation, with scope expanding to alkenes and simple enynes that were not suitable for prior synthetic methodologies with traditional copper complexes. The involvement of a second copper center in the metal kernel during the migratory insertion step is thought to be responsible for the expanded scope.

In this editorial, we comment on the article published in the recent issue of the . Acute liver failure (ALF) is a fatal disease that causes uncontrolled massive hepatocyte death and rapid loss of liver function. Ferroptosis and pyroptosis, cell death forms that can be initiated or blocked concurrently, can play significant roles in developing inflammation and various malignancies.

Previous research has shown that YSTB has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. However, the underlying molecular mechanism of the anti-RA effects of YSTB remains unclear.

Despite significant advances in cluster-based visible-light photocatalysis, the types of organic transformations that copper nanoclusters can catalyze remain limited to date. Herein, we report a structurally well-defined anionic Cu nanocluster that emits in the second near-infrared region (NIR-II, 1000-1700 nm) after photoexcitation and can conduct single-electron transfer with fluoroalkyl iodides without the need for external ligand activation.

Background: Mutations in human ether-à-go-go-related gene (hERG) potassium channels are closely associated with long QT syndrome (LQTS). Previous studies have demonstrated that macrolide antibiotics increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases. To date, the mechanisms underlying acquired LQTS remain elusive.

They could also be utilized for neuroprotection, anti-inflammatory purposes, anti-aging interventions, insomnia treatment, and antidepressant effects. However, due to issues such as hepatic first-pass effect, low bioavailability, and poor patient compliance with multiple dosing, the secondary development of Vinpocetine to address these limitations became a prominent area of research.

Herein, a novel persulfate (PS)-based advanced oxidation system equipped with a series of two-dimensional (2D) bimetallic oxide nanosheets (NSs) catalysts is developed to selectively degrade bisphenol A (BPA) within mixed pollutants via initiating nonradical-induced polymerization. Background And Aims: The G protein coupled receptor GPR15 is expressed on and functionally important for T cells homing to the large intestine. However, the precise mechanisms by which GPR15 controls gut homing have been unclear. Thus, we aimed to elucidate these mechanisms as well as to explore the potential of targeting GPR15 for interfering with T cell recruitment to the colon in inflammatory bowel disease [IBD].
