Platinum (Pt) has been widely employed in photocatalytic H production. However, the influence of CO on proton reduction to H over Pt active species remains unknown. Herein, using Pt/NbO as a model catalyst, the role of Pt active species in CO-sensitive photocatalytic H evolution is evaluated.

Selective ether bond activation is essential in organic synthesis and natural polymer depolymerization. Herein, we report that MoO with negligible acidity but characterized metallic-basic bifunctional properties can efficiently catalyze the benzylation of arenes with benzyl ethers as a benzylation reagent a radical-Friedel-Crafts mechanism. Through combining catalyst characterizations, control experiments, thermomechanical analysis, intermediates capture, and density functional theory (DFT) calculations, multiple Mo sites on the MoO surface facilitate the initial transfer of oxygen-centered groups from adsorbed dibenzyl ether (DBE*).

The transformation involves the first catalytic oxidative fractionation (COF) of lignin into aromatic aldehydes, which can further undergo Knoevenagel condensation with acids/esters with active C-H to generate the phenolic aryl acrylic esters. For the first lignin transformation, the Cu salt (CuSO) in a 7.

Plastic pollution is worsening the living conditions on Earth, primarily due to the toxicity and stability of non-biodegradable plastics (NBPs). Photocatalytic cracking of NBPs is emerging as a promising way to cleave inert C-C bonds and abstract the carbon atoms from these wastes into valuable chemicals and fuels. However, controlling these processes is a huge challenge, ascribed to the complicated reactions of various NBPs.

However, MA generation from furfural requires harsh reaction conditions, and suffers from low efficiency and solvent corrosion. Herein, we design a Nb O photocatalyst loaded of highly dispersed CuO (CuO /Nb O ), which selectively catalyzes furfural oxidation to MA and the precursor (5-hydroxy-2(5H)-furanone, HF).

Niobium pentoxide (NbO), a typically nontoxic metal oxide, is eco-friendly and exhibits strong oxidation ability, and has attracted considerable attention from researchers. Furthermore, unique Lewis acid sites (LASs) and Brønsted acid sites (BASs) are observed on NbO prepared by different methods.

However, the status of home quarantine remains unclear. This study aimed to provide a theoretical basis for the prevention and control of the HFMD and HA by investigating the situation and determining the factors influencing home quarantine in children with HFMD or HA.
