Pterygium is a common ocular surface lesion, and postoperative recurrence remains a major challenge due to insufficient therapeutic strategies targeting fibroblast proliferation and inflammation. Fibrinogen hydrogel (Fibrin glue, FG), a bioadhesive hydrogel, is widely used in pterygium surgery to secure conjunctival autografts. However, its low adhesion often leads to graft detachment, hindering effective repair.

Background: G-quadruplex structures (G4s) have been identified in the genomes of many organisms and have been proven to play significant epigenetic regulatory roles in gene transcription. Intriguingly, only a small portion of the predicted G4-forming sequences can fold into G4s under cellular conditions. Here, we employ publicly available data, methylation inhibitors, DNA methyltransferase 1 (DNMT1) knockout, and multiple 'Omics' technologies to study the interplay between DNA methylation and chromatin accessibility on G4 formation and the impact on gene expression.

Background And Objectives: Spinal cord injury (SCI) leads to debilitating neurological deficits primarily due to the inflammatory response triggered by secondary injury mechanisms. Microglial activation and polarization significantly influence this response, with pro-inflammatory (M1) polarization exacerbating damage and anti-inflammatory (M2) polarization promoting repair. MS4A7, a membrane-bound protein involved in immune regulation, has been implicated in inflammation, but its role in SCI remains unexplored.

Developing a functional separator is an important strategy to improve the electrochemical performance of the Zn anode by suppressing the Zn dendrite growth and parasitic side reactions, thus advancing the aqueous zinc-ion batteries. Herein, we experimentally realize functional separator with gradient-structure based on CeF nanoparticles functionalized glass fibers. The experimental and theoretical results confirmed that the functional separator can tailor the Zn flux and restrain SO transport, promoting dense Zn deposition.

Chronic dietary intake of 17β-estradiol (E) poses significant health risks, necessitating rapid and accurate analytical techniques for effective surveillance. This study presents a magnetic particle (MP)-assisted non-competitive chemiluminescent immunoassay (NCLIA) designed for E quantification in milk. The NCLIA employs anti-E monoclonal antibody (mAb)-coated MPs to capture E target molecules, followed by the recognition of acridinium ester (AE)-conjugated anti-E@mAb immunocomplex antibody.
