Establishing consensus recommendations for metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer in South Korea: A modified Delphi study.

Purpose: Consensus is lacking among South Korean urologists on the appropriate treatment of metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC). A modified, Delphi-based consensus on managing mHSPC patients was developed to support clinical decision-making.

Materials And Methods: Thirty-six questions on mHSPC treatment were developed by an expert committee (five urologists).

Application of Hao's Esophagogastrostomy by Fissure Technique (HEFT) in proximal gastrectomy: protocol for a prospective, multicentre, randomised controlled study.

Background: Proximal gastrectomy (PG) has emerged as the preferred surgical approach for adenocarcinoma of the upper 1/3 stomach and selected cases of oesophagogastric junction adenocarcinoma. We developed a novel oesophagogastric anastomosis technique with an antireflux mechanism (Hao's Esophagogastrostomy by Fissure Technique). It may have a superior effect on patient weight maintenance compared with the double-tract reconstruction.

Association between physical activity and executive function of Chinese adolescents aged 13-18.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between physical activity (PA) and executive function (EF) among adolescents in China.

Methods: Using a stratified cluster random sampling, we recruited 4,991 adolescents from 11 Chinese cities, including Urumqi, Lhasa, and Naqu etc. Participants completed execution function test and PA questionnaire survey.

Advantages of Hao's esophagogastrostomy by fissure technique: study protocol for a prospective clinical trial.

Introduction: In the past, total gastrectomy (TG) was the most common surgical method, but now proximal gastrectomy (PG) has gradually become an alternative surgical method for proximal gastric and esophagogastric junction cancer. However, there is no recognized preferred anastomosis method after PG. In view of this, Hao's esophagogastrostomy by fissure technique (HEFT) proposed by the author's team can reduce the difficulty of the operation and the occurrence of postoperative complications.

Development and External Validation of a Predictive Tool for Early Neurological Deterioration in Acute Minor Vertebrobasilar Occlusive Stroke Managed Medically.

Objective: We sought to construct a scoring model to predict early neurological worsening (END) among minor vertebrobasilar occlusive strokes (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score <6) following best medical management.

Methods: Between January 2019 and June 2024, 137 patients were recruited from a single center. END was characterized by a ≥ 4-point rise in the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale within 72 hours, without intracranial hemorrhage.

Background: Poor sleep quality is a prevalent health concern among Chinese adolescents. Although significant focus has been given to the impact of sleep problems on cognitive function, research on the association between sleep quality and working memory in typically developing adolescents remains limited. The aim of this study is to examine this association in Chinese adolescents.

Effectiveness of single-pill combination olmesartan/amlodipine/hydrochlorothiazide therapy in patients with apparent resistant hypertension.

This pioneering study investigated the real-life effectiveness of single-pill combination (SPC) antihypertensive therapy in patients with uncontrolled blood pressure (BP) and cardiovascular risk factors. After treatment with olmesartan medoxomil/amlodipine besylate/hydrochlorothiazide for 24 weeks, adults with apparent resistant hypertension had significantly reduced systolic BP and approximately 80% achieved target BP. SPC therapy may improve adherence in patients with pseudo-resistant hypertension and is a potentially effective treatment for resistant hypertension.

Background: For adenocarcinoma localized at the gastroesophageal junction and the upper third of the stomach, proximal gastrectomy (PG) is a commonly used surgical method that preserves gastric function. For reconstruction after PG, an effective anti-reflux technique is crucial. This study proposes a novel fundoplication and valvuloplasty esophagogastrostomy technique, named as Hao's esophagogastrostomy by fissure technique (HEFT).

Efficacy and matrix value of xylanase in broiler fed an energy-deficient corn-wheat-soybean diet.

The experiment was conducted to estimate the matrix value of xylanase and the effect of dietary xylanase supplementation on growth performance, viscosity, digestibility, and carcass traits in broiler chickens. A total of 588 one-day-old Ross 308 broiler chicks were raised with a commercial diet until day 7 and seven-day-old chicks were randomly allotted to one of seven dietary treatments with twelve replicates. Diets were corn-soybean meat based with wheat added.

This study compares recurrence-free survival (RFS) and overall survival (OS) in patients with non-clear cell (nccRCC) and clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) undergoing surgical nephrectomy with thrombectomy (SNTx) for RCC with venous thrombus. Data from patients who underwent SNTx at two tertiary centers (June 1990-December 2022) were retrospectively reviewed. Patients were grouped as ccRCC or nccRCC and stratified by metastasis status at surgery.

We aimed to evaluate the ability of ChatGPT, an LLM, to generate physician and patient letters from clinical case notes.

African American adolescents are often disproportionately exposed to community violence, which increases their risk of using substances and developing internalizing symptoms. While these associations are well established in the literature, a limited number of studies have examined substance use as a pathway for the development of internalizing symptoms following exposure to community violence. Using structural equation modeling (SEM) and a cross-sectional design, the current study aimed to explore whether exposure to community violence was associated with substance use.

The purpose of this study was to assess the optimal standardized ileal digestible (SID) lysine (Lys) requirement for male White Pekin ducklings with a specific focus on growth performance for the 3 weeks following hatching. A total of 384 one-day-old male White Pekin ducklings were allocated to six different dietary treatments, each containing varying levels of digestible Lys content ranging from 0.72% to 1.

Role of the beneficial phyllosphere microbiome in the defense against red clover anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum americae-borealis.

Red clover (Trifolium pratense), a high-quality forage plant, faces significant threats from anthracnose in northeastern China, but the pathogen responsible remains unidentified. The phyllosphere microbiota is crucial in plantpathogen interactions, yet its role in the resistance of red clover to anthracnose is poorly understood. Using morphological, molecular, and multigene phylogenetic analyses, we identified Colletotrichum americae-borealis (Cab) as the pathogen that causes anthracnose in red clover in China.

An electrochemical sensor based on MWCNTs and a PCCN peroxidase-like nanocomposite for sensitive and selective kaempferol detection.

Kaempferol (KA) is a flavonoid with a range of biological properties, including antitumor, antioxidant, antiviral and anti-inflammatory, and its extensive applications in biomedicine, food safety, and related fields underscore the importance of quantitative analysis for determining its concentration. In this study, an electrochemical sensor based on multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), PCN and chitosan (CS) was developed for the determination of KA. MWCNTs exhibit hydrophobicity and conductivity, and they are better dispersed by DMF and crosslinked with PCN, which further improves the electrode's response, selectivity and sensitivity to KA due to the peroxide-like properties of PCN.

Incidence and risk factors for dermatologic adverse events following apalutamide use: a real-world data analysis in the Korean population.

Purpose: This study aimed to assess the incidence, severity, and onset of dermatologic adverse events (dAEs) in Korean patients treated with apalutamide for metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC) and to identify clinical and laboratory predisposing factors.

Materials And Methods: We retrospectively analyzed data of patients treated with apalutamide for mHSPC at a tertiary referral center in Korea between April 2023 and March 2024. Patients with a radical prostatectomy history or insufficient data were excluded.

Background: Early phase clinical trials continue to have difficulty with enrolling real-world populations with many minorities being underrepresented. Reasons for this include patient or clinician perception as well as cultural, linguistic, or social barriers. In Australia, there is currently no prospective data in the early phase clinical trial space regarding recruitment of priority populations.
