The tissue factor (TF/CD142) expressed by mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) has been regarded as a safety concern in clinical applications as it may trigger thrombosis when MSCs administered intravenously. Human placental allogenic stromal cells (ASCs) are culture-expanded, undifferentiated MSC-like cells derived from full-term postpartum placenta and possess immunomodulatory and pro-angiogenic activities, however, express TF. Natural killer (NK) cells have been shown to play a pivotal role in reducing IAV-induced pulmonary infections in preclinical models; however, little is known about the therapeutic potential of adoptively transferred NK cells for IAV infections. Background: Indocyanine green (ICG), a water-soluble tricarbocyanine fluorophore, is being increasingly used for tumor localization based on its passive intra-tumoral accumulation due to enhanced permeability and retention in tumor tissue. Therefore, we hypothesized that ICG can provide contrast to facilitate accurate, real-time recognition of renal tumors at the time of nephron-sparing surgery in children.
Methods: This retrospective study examined the feasibility of ICG in guiding nephron-sparing surgery for pediatric renal tumors.
Background: Extracranial pure malignant rhabdoid tumors (MRT) are aggressive tumors that carry a poor prognosis. Bladder MRTs are very rare and only 8 cases have been reported previously.
Observation: We present a case of a child with bladder MRT.
Objectives: To report our immediate and delayed outcomes of nonstented tubularized incised plate (TIP) distal hypospadias repair.
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed all charts of children who underwent distal hypospadias repair in a single children's hospital from 2013 to 2018. Patients' demographics, hypospadias characteristics, operative technique, and immediate and delayed outcomes were recorded.
This paper describes a novel, to the best of our knowledge, approach to build ultrastable interferometers using commercial mirror mounts anchored in an ultralow expansion (ULE) base. These components will play a critical role in any light particle search (ALPS) and will also be included in ground testing equipment for the upcoming laser interferometer space antenna (LISA) mission. Contrary to the standard ultrastable designs where mirrors are bonded to the spacers, ruling out any later modifications and alignments, our design remains flexible and allows the alignment of optical components at all stages to be optimized and changed.

Purpose: Because of the increasing use of nephron-sparing surgery (NSS) in bilateral Wilms tumor, we sought to review the early postoperative complications associated with NSS.
Methods: A retrospective review of patients who underwent NSS at our institution from 2000 to 2017 was performed. For comparison, a cohort of patients who underwent radical nephrectomy (RN) was also reviewed.
Wilms tumor commonly presents as an asymptomatic abdominal mass. In some cases, it can be accompanied with hypertension, constitutional symptoms, and hematuria when involving the collecting system. Below, we review the case of a child diagnosed with botryoid Wilms tumor involving the upper calyces and renal pelvis in which the presenting symptom was a concern for a foreign body in her left ear, and the only abnormality during initial history and physical examination was stage II hypertension.

Objective: To identify attributes of pediatric patients with hydronephrosis due to ureteropelvic junction obstruction and of their surgical encounters which are predictive of resolution of dilatation in order to provide more effective counseling about expected outcomes. This study was inspired by the suggestion in recent literature that greater than 20% improvement in anteroposterior diameter (APD) of the renal pelvis after pyeloplasty is indicative of resolution of obstruction. The remaining dilatation, however, is often distressing to caregivers, and there are no data to guide clinicians in counseling about its likelihood to resolve.

The advanced LIGO gravitational wave detectors are nearing their design sensitivity and should begin taking meaningful astrophysical data in the fall of 2015. These resonant optical interferometers will have unprecedented sensitivity to the strains caused by passing gravitational waves. Materials And Methods: Our radiology database (2000 to 2012) was queried for all children younger than 18 years who were diagnosed with a urachal anomaly radiographically, and the operative database was used to determine those who underwent excision. Data collected included demographics, presenting symptoms, imaging modality and indication for excision.
Advances in the management of Wilms' tumor have been dramatic over the past half century, not in small part due to the institution of multimodal therapy and the formation of collaborative study groups. While different opinions exist in the management of Wilms' tumors depending on where one lives and practices, survival rates have surpassed 90% across the board in Western societies. With more children surviving into adulthood, the concerns about morbidity have reached the forefront and now represent as much a consideration as oncologic outcomes these days.
