Background: The use of geosocial networking apps is linked to increased risky sexual behaviors among men who have sex with men, but their relationship with HIV and other sexually transmitted infections remains inconclusive. Since 2015, the prevalence of app use among men who have sex with men in Shenzhen has surged, highlighting the need for research on their spatiotemporal and behavioral patterns to inform targeted prevention and intervention strategies.
Objective: This study aims to investigate the population size, spatiotemporal and behavioral patterns, and mobility of app-using men who have sex with men in Shenzhen using mobile big data.

Background: The relationships between air pollutants and mental and behavioral disorders (MBDs) remain unclear. We aimed to identify the primary pollutants affecting mental health and evaluate the short-term effects on emergency ambulance dispatches (EADs) due to MBDs.
Methods: Time-stratified case-crossover study and conditional logistic regression model were adopted to explore the impact of air pollutants on EADs due to MBDs from 2013 to 2020 in Shenzhen, China.
Background: Climate change has raised scientific interest in examining the associations of weather conditions with adverse health effects, while most studies determined human thermal stress using ambient air temperature rather than the thermophysiological index.
Objectives: To evaluate the association between emergency ambulance dispatches (EADs) related to cardiovascular causes and heat/cold stress in Shenzhen, a city in southern China, with the aim of providing new insights for local policymakers.
Methods: A time series analysis using ambulance dispatch data of cardiovascular diseases in Shenzhen, China (2013-2019) was conducted.
Objective: To investigate the effect of selenium on cyclophosphamide (CTX)-induced spermatogenic impairment (SI) in mice and its underlying mechanism.
Methods: We equally randomized 36 male KM mice into 3 SI model and 3 control groups, the first 3 treated by intraperitoneal injection of CTX at 100 mg/kg (the SI model control group), CTX plus SI model control group, selenium deficient model group (-Se SI), selenium supplemented model group (+Se SI), while latter 3 by intraperitoneal injection of normal saline (the normal control), selenium deficiency control group (-Se control), selenium addition control group (+Se control), respectively, all once a week for 6 successive weeks. Then we observed the histopathological changes in the testes of all the mice by HE staining, obtained the sperm count in the epididymides, determined the expressions of glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPx4) and SLC7A11 proteins by Western blot and ferroptosis-related genes by RT-qPCR, and examined the changes in the expressions of ferroptosis-related proteins and genes in the GC2-spd cells treated with ferroptosis inhibitors and inducers in combination with different concentrations of inorganic sodium selenite (SeS) and organic selenomethionine (SeM).
Introduction: The precise associations between temperature-related indices and mental and behavioral disorders (MBDs) have yet to be fully elucidated. Our study aims to ascertain the most effective temperature-related index and assess its immediate impact on emergency ambulance dispatches (EADs) due to MBDs in Shenzhen, China.

The study aimed to find the most appropriate definition of the cold spell in Shenzhen and quantify the impact of cold spells on mortality. Objective: To explore the association between obesity and precocious puberty from the perspective of genetic polymorphism.
Design: Two hundred and ninety-eight pairs of girls in early puberty and age-matched controls (±3 months) were recruited. Temperature change is an important meteorological indicator reflecting weather stability. This study aimed to examine the effects of ambient temperature change on non-accidental mortality using diurnal temperature change (DTR) and temperature change between neighboring days (TCN) from two perspectives, intra-day and inter-day temperature change, and further, to explore seasonal variations of mortality, identify the susceptible population and investigate the interaction between temperature change and apparent temperature (AT).
