Background: Theileria annulata, a tick-borne protozoan that causes tropical theileriosis, poses a serious threat to livestock production in endemic regions. The emergence of resistance to buparvaquone, the primary chemotherapeutic treatment, has been attributed to acquired mutations in the cytochrome b (Cytb) gene, with identical resistance-associated polymorphisms observed in both laboratory-adapted strains and field isolates from China.
Methods: A dual probe-specific real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assay was developed to detect point mutations in the Cytb gene.
Ticks are obligate blood-sucking ectoparasite and common vector of a wide variety of zoonotic pathogens. In this research, we sequenced and assembled the circular complete mitogenome information of Chinese isolates of Hyalomma anatolicum maintained at the Laboratory. The 14,714 bp mitogenome consists of 37 genes, including 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA (tRNA) genes and 2 ribosomal RNA (rRNA).

Theileria annulata, an apicomplexan parasite, induces severe alterations in host cells, promoting uncontrolled proliferation, resistance to apoptosis, and immune evasion. Although EVs contribute to these processes, the proteins and small RNA cargo involved in T.

The present study aimed to provide a comprehensive assessment of the prevalence of bovine piroplasmosis in Gansu and Qinghai provinces, China, offering crucial baseline data for the development of effective control and prevention strategies. A total of 736 bovine blood samples were collected from Tianshui, Pingliang, and Lanzhou in Gansu, and Xining and Haidong in Qinghai.

This paper presents an implantable low-power neural stimulator that generates electrical stimulation pulses based on subject-specific edge-learning of electrode-tissue voltage profiles. The system deploys a low-magnitude constant-current stimulation pulse to create a training dataset, which is subsequently utilized to predict the desired electrode voltage waveforms for higher magnitudes of constant-current stimulation. The predicted waveform dataset has been used to control a custom switched-capacitor output stage, thereby avoiding V · I power loss as in the conventional neural stimulator drivers.

Emerging evidence hints that circular RNAs (circRNAs) are involved in various diseases, including periodontitis. This study aimed to investigate the role of circ_0099630 in the progression of periodontitis.

A Co-catalyzed intramolecular Pauson-Khand reaction was used for stereoselective construction of cyclopentanone bearing an all-carbon quaternary stereogenic center at the bridge-head position. Light-initiated photocatalysis was used for convergent and asymmetric cross-coupling of the unstabilized C(sp) radical with an enone.

However, in practical applications, moving targets are often occluded due to complex changes in the background, which leads to frequent pedestrian ID switches in multi-object tracking. To solve the problem, we present a multi-object tracking algorithm based on FairMOT and Circle Loss.

This study retrospectively included some patients with colorectal cancer diagnosed by histopathology, to explore the feasibility of CT medical image texture analysis in predicting KRAS gene mutations in patients with colorectal cancer. Before any surgical procedure, all patients received an enhanced CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis, as well as genetic testing. To define patient groups, divide all patients into test and validation sets based on the order of patient enrollment.

Talus fracture of the medial tubercle of the posterior process is rare. This type of fracture can be easily missed, because it is difficult to identify on plain radiographs of the ankle. Oblique radiographs with external rotation, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the ankle are useful for making an accurate diagnosis.

Introduction: Although the extended lateral approach is typically considered the gold standard of treatment for intra-articular calcaneal fractures, a limited lateral approach may be a good alternative in select cases.
Methods: Forty-seven consecutive patients with intra-articular calcaneal fractures treated using the sinus tarsi approach between March 2010 and April 2015 were retrospectively reviewed. The functional outcomes [including arc range of motion, Visual Analog Scale (VAS) score, and the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society ankle/hindfoot (AOFAS) score], bony outcomes (bony restoration and bony union), and complications were evaluated.
Intranasal vaccination is more potent than parenteral injection for the prevention of influenza. However, because the poor efficiency of antigen uptake across the nasal mucosa is a key issue, immunostimulatory adjuvants are essential for intranasal vaccines. The immunomodulator mannatide or polyactin (PA) has been used for the clinical treatment of impaired immunity in China, but its adjuvant effect on an inactivated trivalent influenza vaccine (ITIV) via intranasal vaccination is unclear.

Aim: To investigate the effect and mechanism of stimulation of the hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus with glutamate acid in rats with ulcerative colitis (UC).
Methods: The rats were anesthetized with 10% chloral hydrate via abdominal injection and treated with an equal volume of TNBS + 50% ethanol enema, injected into the upper section of the anus with the tail facing up. Colonic damage scores were calculated after injecting a certain dose of glutamic acid into the paraventricular nucleus (PVN), and the effect of the nucleus tractus solitarius (NTS) and vagus nerve in alleviating UC injury through chemical stimulation of the PVN was observed in rats.

Objective: To study the changes of vascular endothelial cell function and platelet activation in rabbit spinal cord following ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury and their roles in the spinal cord injury.
Methods: Rabbit spinal cord I/R injury models were established using Zivin method, and the changes in plasma NO and GMP140 levels were dynamically monitored after the injury.
Results: Plasma NO level increased significantly in the I/R group at the end of the ischemia, and reached the peak level at 2 h of reperfusion as compared to that in sham-operated group (P<0.
