Death-associated protein-1 (DAP-1) plays a crucial role in cell growth, migration, autophagy, and apoptosis in mammals. However, its function in insects remains unclear. In the present study, we cloned and identified DAP-1 (NlDAP-1).

Bullous pemphigoid (BP) is the most common autoimmune blistering disease, which primarily affects the elderly. However, the relationship between BP and malignancy remains controversial in traditional observational studies. The aim of this study, which included only European populations, was to assess the potential causative link between BP and 13 types of malignant tumors in a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) study.

Plant cells possess a two-layered immune system consisting of pattern-triggered immunity (PTI) and effector-triggered immunity (ETI), mediated by cell surface pattern-recognition receptors and intracellular nucleotide-binding leucine-rich repeat receptors (NLRs), respectively. The CONSTITUTIVE EXPRESSION OF PR GENES 5 (CPR5) nuclear pore complex protein negatively regulates ETI, including ETI-associated hypersensitive response. Here, we show that CPR5 is essential for the activation of various PTI responses in Arabidopsis, such as resistance to the non-adapted bacterium Pseudomonas syringae pv.

Article Synopsis
  • - The brown planthopper is a significant pest impacting rice production in Asia, making it a challenge for agriculture.
  • - The ITIH4 gene, which is related to various biological processes, was studied and found to be expressed in all developmental stages and tissues of the pest, particularly in the fat body.
  • - Silencing ITIH4 through RNA interference reduced the pest's survival, delayed ovary development, and lowered egg production and hatching rates, highlighting its crucial role in reproduction and growth.

Behçet's disease (BD) is associated with an increased risk of cancer. Few reports have been published on the relationship between drug exposure and the risk of cancer in patients with BD. Herein, we explored the relationship between pharmacologic interventions for BD and the risk of cancer.

Background: Benvitimod cream, a novel synthetic small molecule, was effective in treating mild-to-moderate plaque psoriasis. We conducted a phase III clinical trial to assess the efficacy and safety of benvitimod cream in patients with mild-to-moderate plaque psoriasis.

Methods: We randomly assigned 686 patients (2:1:1) to receive 1% benvitimod cream, 0.

Objective: Dermoscopy is a useful technique for improving the diagnostic accuracy of various types of skin disorders. In China, dermoscopy has been widely accepted, and domestic researchers have made tremendous progress in the field of dermoscopy. The main purpose of this review is to summarize the current status of dermoscopy in China and identify its future directions.

Ultrasound elastography has become a promising noninvasive approach for assessing liver fibrosis. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the diagnosis ability of liver stiffness detected by shear wave elastography (SWE) for predicting the presence of esophageal varices (EVs) in cirrhotic patients. Four hundred sixty-eight cirrhotic patients were enrolled consecutively.

Background: Ketoconazole cream and adapalene gel are effective drugs against pityriasis versicolor. However, there are no reports on combination treatment with both compounds in pityriasis versicolor.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of combination therapy with adapalene 0.

Hyperkeratotic-type tinea pedis is chronic and recalcitrant to topical antifungal agents. Some topical antifungal agents are effective; however, long duration of therapy is required, which often reduce the treatment compliance of patients. To seek for short period therapy of hyperkeratotic type tinea pedis, in this study, we observed the efficacy and safety of treatment of topical terbinafine and 10% urea ointment combined oral terbinafine.

To evaluate clinical efficacy and safety of injectable recombinant human LFA3-antibody fusion protein (rhLFA3-IgFP), a multi-center, randomized, double-blind, double-dummy, parallel-controlled clinical trial was performed in 212 cases of moderate to severe psoriasis. Intramuscular injection of rhLFA3-IgFP (15 mg/week) and oral administration of blank dummy methotrexate at the dose of 7.5 mg/week was performed in the patients in the experimental group, and control patients were orally administered with methotrexate at the dose of 7.

Article Synopsis
  • - We conducted a genome-wide association study for generalized vitiligo focusing on the Chinese Han population, involving over 1,100 cases and almost 1,500 controls, followed by a larger replication study in different Chinese populations.
  • - Two significant genetic markers in the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) region were identified, one associated with increased risk (rs11966200) and another potentially protective (rs9468925) related to specific HLA alleles.
  • - Additionally, we discovered a new risk locus at 6q27 (rs2236313) linked to three genes, contributing to a better understanding of the genetic factors involved in vitiligo.

The major quantitative trait locus (QTL) on 3BS from Sumai 3 and its derivatives has been used as a major source of resistance to Fusarium head blight (FHB) worldwide, but resistance genes from other sources are necessary to avoid complete dependence on a single source of resistance. Fifty-nine Asian wheat landraces and cultivars differing in the levels of FHB resistance were evaluated for type II FHB resistance and for genetic diversity on the basis of amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) and simple sequence repeats (SSRs). Genetic relationships among these wheat accessions estimated by cluster analysis of molecular marker data were consistent with their geographic distribution and pedigrees.
