Brain-computer interface (BCI) integration with virtual reality (VR) has progressed from single-limb control to multi-limb coordination, yet achieving intuitive tri-manual operation remains challenging. This study presents a consumer-grade hybrid BCI-VR framework enabling simultaneous control of two biological hands and a virtual third limb through integration of Tobii eye-tracking, NeuroSky single-channel EEG, and non-haptic controllers. The system employs e-Sense attention thresholds (>80% for 300 ms) to trigger virtual hand activation combined with gaze-driven targeting within 45° visual cones.

However, transforming and maintaining a device's desired geometry without a sustained energy input remains challenging, especially where environmental stresses can be unpredictable. Here, we create a soft multistable magnetic-responsive metamaterial with programmable energy barriers enabled by a bistable geometry made entirely from soft material.

However, realising micro-organisms' dexterity in soft robots remains challenging without an effective mechanism to achieve bidirectional propulsion in low Reynolds numbers. Here, inspired by recent theoretical studies that suggest the possibility of intrinsically curved elastic flagella to achieve bidirectional propulsion, we experimentally investigate the propulsion behaviour of elastic artificial flagella with uniform intrinsic curvature, actuated by transverse oscillations at Re < 0.

Methods: A retrospective comparative analysis was conducted on patients with endothelial decompensation who underwent either nDSEK or DSEK procedures between August 2017 and January 2024. Participants were observed for a minimum duration of 12 months.
Avascular necrosis of the femoral head (ANFH) is a debilitating musculoskeletal disorder that is typically caused by impaired blood supply to the hip joint. In treating irregular bone defects that resulted from ANFH, injectable hydrogels are particularly attractive as they can be administered in a minimally invasive manner and conform to the variable shape of a bone defect. However, they often lack the biochemical and mechanical properties for effective bone repair.

This retrospective study collected clinical data on patients with corneal endothelial decompensation who underwent either nDSEK or DSEK between August 2019 and April 2023. The donor-recipient interface particle density, interface haze, visual outcome, and graft dislocation were compared between nDSEK and DSEK groups.

In addition to their high electrical and thermal conductivity, LMs can be actuated, potentially enabling highly durable electro-mechanical and microfluidics systems for applications such as cooling, drug delivery, or reconfigurable electronics. In particular, continuous electrowetting (CEW) phenomena can actuate liquid metal at relatively low voltage and affordable power requirements for wearable systems (~ < 10 V, ~ 10 - 100 µW) by inducing a surface tension gradient across the LM.

The northern snakehead () is a valuable aquaculture species across certain Asian countries, contributing significantly to economic prosperity and dietary needs. However, its productivity faces significant challenges, particularly from diseases such as nocardiosis, caused by . To date, the majority of research efforts have focused on describing the observed phenomena related to infection.

In this study, EMPs induced by picosecond (ps) laser coupling with solid targets are recorded at the XG-III laser facility. Gold wire targets produce more intense EMPs with a maximum EMP value of 608 kV/m compared to some planar targets.

Leukocyte-derived chemotaxin-2 (LECT2) is a multifunctional immunoregulator that plays several pivotal roles in the host's defense against pathogens. This study aimed to elucidate the specific functions and mechanisms of LECT2 (CaLECT2) in the northern snakehead (Channa argus) during infections with pathogens such as Nocardia seriolae (N. seriolae).

The Thomson parabola ion spectrometer is vulnerable to intense electromagnetic pulses (EMPs) generated by a high-power laser interacting with solid targets. A metal shielding cage with a circular aperture of 1 mm diameter is designed to mitigate EMPs induced by a picosecond laser irradiating a copper target in an experiment where additionally an 8-ns delayed nanosecond laser is incident into an aluminum target at the XG-III laser facility. The implementation of the shielding cage reduces the maximum EMP amplitude inside the cage to 5.

Comparison of chemical composition and functional properties of insoluble and soluble dietary fiber (IDF, SDF) obtained from four China cereal brans was investigated. With findings, IDFs and SDFs for rice bran (RB), wheat bran (WB), highland barely bran (HBB) and tartary buckwheat bran (TBB) contained several monosaccharides such as arabinose, galactose, glucose, xylose, and galacturonic acid. The RBIDF was shrinking and formed a rugged microscopic structure, while the structure of WBIDF was dense and flat.

We report on charge state measurements of laser-accelerated carbon ions in the energy range of several MeV penetrating a dense partially ionized plasma. The plasma was generated by irradiation of a foam target with laser-induced hohlraum radiation in the soft x-ray regime. We use the tricellulose acetate (C_{9}H_{16}O_{8}) foam of 2 mg/cm^{3} density and 1 mm interaction length as target material.

Salinity is an important environmental factor that affects the yield and quality of large yellow croaker (Larimichthys crocea) during aquaculture. Here, whole-genome bisulfite sequencing (WGBS), RNA-seq, bisulfite sequencing PCR (BSP), quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR), and dual luciferase reporter gene detection technologies were used to analyze the DNA methylation characteristics and patterns of the liver genome, the expression and methylation levels of important immune genes in large yellow croaker in response to salinity stress. The results of WGBS showed that the cytosine methylation of CG type was dominant, CpGIsland and repeat regions were important regions where DNA methylation occurred, and the DNA methylation in upstream 2k (2000bp upstream of the promoter) and repeat regions had different changes in the liver tissue of large yellow croaker in the response to the 12‰, 24‰, 36‰ salinity stress of 4 w (weeks).

Infigratinib (INF) is a promising selective inhibitor of fibroblast growth factor receptors 1-3 that has recently been accorded both orphan drug designation and priority review status by the US Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of advanced cholangiocarcinoma. Its propensity to undergo bioactivation to electrophilic species was recently expounded upon. However, other than causing aberrant idiosyncratic toxicities, these reactive intermediates may elicit mechanism-based inactivation of cytochrome P450 enzymes.

Although it has been previously reported that ERD elicits time-dependent inhibition (TDI) of cytochrome P450 (P450) 3A4 (CYP3A4), the exact biochemical nature underpinning this observation remains obfuscated. Moreover, it is also uninterrogated if CYP3A5-its highly homologous counterpart-could be susceptible to such interactions.
