The therapeutic efficacy of cuproptosis, ferroptosis, and apoptosis is hindered by inadequate intracellular copper and iron levels, hypoxia, and elevated glutathione (GSH) expression in tumor cells. Thermoelectric technology is an emerging frontier in medical therapy that aims to achieve efficient thermal and electrical transport characteristics within a narrow thermal range for biological systems. Here, we systematically constructed biodegradable CuMnS-PEG/glucose oxidase (MCPG) with sulfur vacancies (S) using photothermoelectric catalysis (PTEC), photothermal-enhanced enzyme catalysis, and starvation therapy.

To emulate the tactile perception of human skin, the integration of tactile sensors with neuromorphic devices has emerged as a promising approach to achieve near-sensor information processing. Here, we present a monolithic electronic device that seamlessly integrates tactile perception and neuromorphic computing functionalities within a single architecture, with synaptic plasticity directly tunable by tactile inputs. This unique capability stems from our engineered device structure employing SnO nanowires as the conductive channel coupled with a pressure-sensitive chitosan layer ionic gating layer.

Background: Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has emerged as a promising adjunctive treatment for glioblastoma (GBM), yet a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of this field is lacking. This study explores research trends, major contributors, and hotspots in PDT for GBM to provide an integrated overview of its development.

Methods: Literature from 1993 to 2024 was retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection.

Objective: The purpose of the study is to construct meaningful nomogram models according to the independent prognostic factor for metastatic pancreatic cancer receiving chemotherapy.

Methods: This study is retrospective and consecutively included 143 patients from January 2013 to June 2021. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve with the area under the curve (AUC) is utilized to determine the optimal cut-off value.

Background: Glioblastoma (GBM) is an aggressive and unstoppable malignancy. Natural killer T (NKT) cells, characterized by specific markers, play pivotal roles in many tumor-associated pathophysiological processes. Therefore, investigating the functions and complex interactions of NKT cells is great interest for exploring GBM.

Background: Cuproptosis is a regulated cell death form associated with tumor progression, clinical outcomes, and immune response. However, the role of cuproptosis in pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PAAD) remains unclear. This study aims to investigate the implications of cuproptosis-related genes (CRGs) in PAAD by integrated bioinformatic methods and clinical validation.

More effective strategies are needed to improve the treatment of liver cancer. Sono-photodynamic therapy (SPDT) has a more obvious antitumor effect than sonodynamic therapy (SDT) or photodynamic therapy (PDT). We aimed to investigate Glypican-3-targeted, curcumin-loaded microbubbles (GPC3-CUR-MBs)-mediated SPDT in liver cancer cells in vitro and in vivo.

5-Aminolevulinic acid hydrochloride (ALA)-mediated sonodynamic therapy (SDT) had anti-tumour effect on pancreatic cancer cells. Hence, ALA loaded lipid/poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) microbubbles (MBs)-mediated SDT for pancreatic cancer has great potential. The average size of ALA-lipid MBs and ALA-PLGA MBs was about 3.

Sono-photodynamic therapy (SPDT) activates the same photo-/sonosensitizer and exerts more marked antitumor effects than sonodynamic therapy or photodynamic therapy. We aimed to explore the utilization of curcumin (CUR)-loaded poly(L-lactide-co-glycolide) microbubble (MB)-mediated SPDT (CUR-PLGA-MB-SPDT) in HepG2 liver cancer cells. The cytotoxicity and intracellular accumulation of CUR were determined.

Background: It is important to explore effective treatment for liver cancer. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a novel technique to treat liver cancer, but its clinical application is obstructed by limited depth of visible light penetration into tissue. The near-infrared (NIR) photosensitizer is a potential solution to the limitations of PDT for deep tumor tissue treatment.
