Water-washing effectively removes surface residual lithium from high-Ni LiNiCoMnO (NCM) cathodes; however, it inevitably degrades the electrochemical performance. To address this issue, integrated strategies targeting the conversion of surface residual lithium into artificial coating layers on high-Ni NCM cathodes have been proposed; however, these require further processing, thus hindering their industrial application. This study proposes a trailblazing strategy for directly converting residual lithium into a LiF layer simultaneously formed on both the surface of secondary particles and the interfaces between the primary particles of high-Ni NCM, without requiring further processing.

Purpose: Programmed cell death ligand-1 (PD-L1) negatively regulates T-cell activation, and exhibits sex-based differences in expression and immune responses. This study investigated sex-related differences in clinicopathological factors influencing PD-L1 expression and the effect of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) on survival in gastric cancer (GC) patients in South Korea.
Materials And Methods: We analyzed a prospective cohort of 468 GC patients who underwent PD-L1 immunohistochemistry.
Seaweed-associated endophytic fungi have recently attracted considerable attention due to their ecological significance and potential application as biological resources. Accordingly, research efforts to isolate and characterize fungal endophytes from marine macroalgae have accelerated. This study aimed to isolate and identify endophytic fungi from two brown algae, and , collected from intertidal zones in Tongyeong and Pohang, Korea.

This study aims to describe postpandemic virtual urgent care (VUC) utilization, including VUC-to-ED referral rates and outcomes in children.
Methods: We performed a retrospective cohort study of patients under 21 years presenting to the ED within 72 hours following a VUC visit from March 1, 2021, through February 28, 2023, using the electronic medical record.
Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 2Z (CMT2Z) is an inherited axonal neuropathy caused by haploinsufficiency of microrchidia CW-type zinc finger protein 2 (MORC2), which leads to elevated hydroxyl radical levels, reduced ATPase activity, and apoptosis-mediated neuromuscular degeneration. CMT2Z presents with severe clinical manifestations, yet no widely applicable and affordable treatment has been developed. While gene therapy presents a theoretical solution, its feasibility remains constrained by prohibitive costs and delivery challenges.

In FBCAs removal surgery, due to the previous infection history and the anatomical proximity of the FBCAs tract to the facial nerve, postoperative recurrence and facial paralysis are not uncommon. This study aimed to assess the clinical feasibility and outcomes of FBCAs resection using the retrograde facial nerve dissection technique.

This study investigated the potential of (SV) supplementation for mitigating the impact of sarcopenic obesity on diet-induced obese mice. Mice in the study were divided into groups and fed a normal diet, a high-fat diet (HFD), or an HFD supplemented with 0.

We aimed to evaluate the index endoscopic characteristics associated with the diagnosis of gastric neoplasms and adequate gastric cancer screening interval.
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed cases of the patients diagnosed with gastric neoplasms, who showed no evidence of gastric neoplasms on index endoscopy between October 2005 and December 2022.
Gastritis, characterized by gastric mucosal inflammation, is a common gastrointestinal disorder with diverse etiologies, such as infection, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs use, and autoimmune conditions. Pharmacological treatment aims primarily to heal the mucosa and resolve symptoms, and such treatments include mucoprotective agents, histamine-2 receptor antagonists (H2RAs), proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), and potassium-competitive acid blockers (P-CABs). Mucoprotective agents enhance gastric mucosal protection through multiple mechanisms, such as by promoting mucosal regeneration, reducing inflammation, and mitigating oxidative stress.

We compared efficacy of anbal-cel with tisagenlecleucel (tisa-cel) in relapsed/refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma using external control arm study design.
Materials And Methods: We performed a matching-adjusted indirect comparison (MAIC) using individual patient data from CRC01-01 (NCT#04836507) and aggregate data from JULIET trial (NCT#02445248).
Aim: The use of vitrified-warmed blastocyst transfer (VBT) cycles has increased significantly. This study aimed to investigate the effects of the post-warming culture duration and blastocyst morphology on clinical outcomes in VBT cycles.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort study of 1551 VBT cycles.

Background: Sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT-2) inhibitors, widely used for type 2 diabetes and cardiorenal conditions, may induce erythrocytosis, potentially increasing cardiovascular risk. This study investigates its prevalence, risk factors, and thrombotic implications.
Methods: In a single-center retrospective study, we analyzed 6787 patients prescribed SGLT-2 inhibitors (2014-2024).
Anhydromuropeptide permease (AmpG) is a transporter protein located in the inner membrane of certain gram -negative bacteria, involved in peptidoglycan (PG) recycling and β-lactamase induction. Decreased AmpG function reduces resistance of antibiotic-resistant bacteria to β-lactam antibiotics. Therefore, AmpG-targeting inhibitors are promising 'antibiotic adjuvants'.

Here, we present high-resolution structures of clusters formed by two TNF receptor family proteins, TNFR1 and BAFFR. Using a lipid monolayer method to mimic their membrane-bound state, we observe that the TNFα-TNFR1 complex forms highly ordered clusters of trimers on the lipid membrane.

However, the potential for biomimetic analogues to seamlessly interface hard materials with soft interfaces has driven the demand for innovative chemistries and manufacturing approaches. Here, we report a liquid resin for rapid, high-resolution digital light processing (DLP) 3D printing of multimaterial objects with an unprecedented combination of strength, elasticity and resistance to ageing.

Background: While the concern for visible scars might traditionally be associated more with female patients, male patients are increasingly valuing cosmetic outcomes in surgical procedures. A single port robot thyroidectomy using only a hairline approach is feasible in female patients. The purpose of this study is to investigate the safety, utility, and cosmetic outcomes of single port hairline approach thyroidectomy (SPHAT), emphasizing its ability to minimize visible scarring in male patients.

This study investigates the role of Early Growth Response 1 (EGR1) in extranodal natural killer/T-cell lymphoma (ENKTL) and its correlation with PD-L1 expression. Analysis of 62 ENKTL patient samples revealed that high EGR1 expression was linked to PD-L1 positivity, the immune evasion-A subtype, and early-stage disease. Although EGR1 expression was not an independent prognostic factor for overall survival, patients with higher EGR1 levels showed a trend toward better outcomes.
