Arteriovenous fistulas (AVFs) involving the middle meningeal artery (MMA) and middle meningeal vein were initially described in 1951. Middle meningeal arteriovenous fistulas (MMAVFs) are rare abnormalities classified as dural AVFs, connecting the MMA to the nearby dural venous sinus or cortical veins. Clinical symptoms of MMAVFs include pulsatile tinnitus, headache, exophthalmos, chemosis, and diplopia.

We report a rare case of a left internal mammary artery (LIMA) originating from the left thyrocervical trunk (TCT), which arose directly from the aortic arch. A patient in their 70s presented with bilateral distal internal carotid artery aneurysms, diagnosed through computed tomography angiography performed for headache evaluation. Transfemoral cerebral angiography confirmed the aneurysms and incidentally revealed the anomalous origins of the TCT and LIMA, as well as a left vertebral artery directly arising from the aortic arch.

Despite evolving techniques, the optimal aspiration pressure during retrieval remains debatable, with limited in vivo human studies. Existing studies, primarily in vitro and on animals, suggest that inappropriate aspiration pressures can impair oocyte quality.

Background: Ureteral stents, such as double-J stents, have become indispensable in urologic procedures but are associated with complications like hematuria and pain. While the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) technology has led to its increasing application in the health sector, AI has not been used to provide information on potential complications and to facilitate subsequent measures in the event of such complications.
Objective: This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of an AI-based prediction tool in providing patients with information about potential complications from ureteroscopy and ureteric stent placement and indicating the need for early additional therapy.

Background And Purpose: To determine the clinical phenotypes, relapse timing, treatment responses, and outcomes of children with relapsing myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease (MOGAD).
Methods: We collected the demographic, clinical, laboratory, and radiological data of patients aged <18 years who had been diagnosed with MOGAD at Seoul National University Children's Hospital between January 2010 and January 2022; 100 were identified as positive for MOG antibodies, 43 of whom experienced relapse.
Results: The median age at onset was 7 years (range 2-16 years).
Purpose: To assess whether an artificial intelligence (AI)-based reassurance-call can inform patients about potential complications and provides reassurance following a prostate biopsy.
Materials And Methods: From October 2022 to December 2023, 42 patients aged 40 to 70 years undergoing their first prostate biopsy were recruited. The 'Reassurance-call' service was utilized to inform and monitor patients for complications.
Background: Accurate history taking is essential for diagnosis, treatment, and patient care, yet miscommunications and time constraints often lead to incomplete information. Consequently, there has been a pressing need to establish a system whereby the questionnaire is duly completed before the medical appointment, entered into the electronic health record (EHR), and stored in a structured format within a database.
Objective: This study aimed to develop and evaluate a streamlined electronic questionnaire system, BEST-Survey (Bundang Hospital Electronic System for Total Care-Survey), integrated with the EHR, to enhance history taking and data management for patients with pediatric headaches.

Oocyte and embryo cryopreservation before gonadotoxic treatment are established methods to increase the likelihood of live births. Although several sociodemographic factors were found to be associated with undergoing fertility preservation (FP) treatment, clinical characteristics such as planned immediate chemotherapy were not fully investigated. We aimed to investigate whether the planned immediate chemotherapy is related to the decision to undergo oocyte/embryo cryopreservation for FP with adjustment for other clinical characteristics.

Advanced diagnostic imaging, such as in vivo near-infrared (NIR) fluorescence imaging, enhances early detection by reducing autofluorescence and enabling deeper tissue penetration, addressing some limitations of conventional methods. Understanding the underlying causes of autofluorescence, even in mouse model fluorescence imaging, is crucial for accurate interpretation.

Background: The surplus cytokines remaining after use in the early stages of the inflammatory response stimulate immune cells even after the response is over, causing a secondary inflammatory response and ultimately damaging the host, which is called a cytokine storm. Inhibiting heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90), which has recently been shown to play an important role in regulating inflammation in various cell types, may help control excessive inflammatory responses and cytokine storms.
Methods: We discovered an anti-inflammatory compound by measuring the inhibitory effect of CD86 expression on spleen DCs (sDCs) using the chemical compounds library of Hsp90 inhibitors.
Purpose: This study investigated whether the respiratory phase during pleural puncture in CT-guided percutaneous transthoracic needle biopsy (PTNB) affects complications.
Materials And Methods: We conducted a retrospective review of 477 lung biopsy CT scans performed during free breathing. The respiratory phases during pleural puncture were determined based on the table position of the targeted nodule using CT scans obtained during free breathing.
Background: This study aimed to investigate whether placebo control is differently disclosed in drug and non-drug randomised clinical trial (RCT) participant information leaflets (PILs) and how this might affect participant blinding and direction of study outcomes.
Methods: PILs were obtained from trials registered in the International Standard Randomised Controlled Trial Number database via email. Placebo descriptions in PILs were categorised as Full Disclosure (FD), Partial Disclosure (PD), or Missing Information (MI).
