Purpose: Breast cancer-related lymphedema (BCRL) is often challenging to manage, and knowledge of how to prevent it is limited. There are several well-known risk factors, but recent studies have also suggested the potential association of immediate breast reconstruction with lower incidence, albeit with inconclusive results. Thus, we explored the impact of immediate breast reconstruction on lymphedema incidence in patients with breast cancer who underwent a mastectomy and adjuvant radiation therapy (RT).

This study aims to investigate the role of TIGIT in the immunosuppressive tumor environment and evaluate the potential of TIGIT blockade (αTIGIT) to enhance antitumor immune responses.
Methods: We analyzed public transcriptomic data to identify the expression patterns of TIGIT on T cells in breast cancer and its prognostic impact.

Skin aging is driven by a combination of internal and external mechanisms, with ultraviolet (UV) radiation being a prominent external factor contributing to photoaging. Photoaging manifests through several signs, including decreased skin hydration, diminished elasticity, coarse wrinkles, and dyspigmentation. Cacao beans, known for their flavonoids and polyphenols, offer potential anti-aging benefits.

Materials And Methods: Newly diagnosed patients with Isocitrate dehydrogenase wild-type eGBM-unmethylated treated with RT were included in this multicenter analysis (n=182). RT dose was 45 Gy in 15 fractions (62.
Purpose: This study aimed to develop a graded prognostic assessment (GPA) model integrating genomic characteristics for elderly patients with glioblastoma (eGBM), and to compare the efficacy of different radiotherapy schedules.
Materials And Methods: This multi-institutional retrospective study included patients aged ≥ 65 years who underwent surgical resection followed by radiotherapy with or without temozolomide (TMZ) for newly diagnosed eGBM. Based on the significant factors identified in the multivariate analysis for overall survival (OS), the molecular GPA for eGBM (eGBM-molGPA) was established.
Background And Purpose: Local radiotherapy (RT) exerts immunostimulatory effects by inducing immunogenic cell death. However, it remains unknown whether in vitro-irradiated tumor cells can elicit anti-tumor responses and enhance the efficacy of local RT and immune checkpoint inhibitors when injected in vivo.
Methods And Materials: We tested the "in vitro-irradiated cancer vaccine (ICV)", wherein tumor cells killed by varying doses of irradiation and their supernatants are intravenously injected.

Background: Given the typical trajectory of glioblastoma, many patients lose decision-making capacity over time, which can lead to inadequate advance care planning (ACP) and end-of-life (EOL) care. We aimed to evaluate patients' current ACP and EOL care status.
Patients And Methods: We conducted a cohort study on 205 patients referred to oncologists at a Korean tertiary hospital between 2017 and 2022.
The European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology-Advisory Committee in Radiation Oncology Practice (ESTRO-ACROP) updated a new target volume delineation guideline for postmastectomy radiotherapy (PMRT) after implant-based reconstruction. This study aimed to evaluate the impact on breast complications with the new guideline compared to the conventional guidelines. In total, 308 patients who underwent PMRT after tissue expander or permanent implant insertion from 2016 to 2021 were included; 184 received PMRT by the new ESTRO-ACROP target delineation (ESTRO-T), and 124 by conventional target delineation (CONV-T).

Purpose: The estrogen receptor-positive (ER+) breast cancer (BC), which constitutes the majority of BC cases, exhibits highly heterogeneous clinical behavior. To aid precision treatments, we aimed to find molecular subtypes of ER+ BC representing the tumor microenvironment and prognosis.
Methods: We analyzed RNA-seq data of 113 patients with BC and classified them according to the PAM50 intrinsic subtypes using gene expression profiles.
Background/aim: Exposure to particulate matter (PM) air pollution is known to adversely affect respiratory disease, but no study has examined its effect on radiation-induced pneumonitis (RIP) in patients with breast cancer.
Patients And Methods: We conducted a retrospective review of 2,736 patients with breast cancer who received postoperative radiation therapy (RT) between 2017 and 2020 in a single institution. The distance between the PM measurement station and our institution was only 3.
Radiotherapy for cancer has been known to affect the responses of immune cells, especially those of CD8 T cells that play a pivotal role in anti-tumor immunity. Clinical success of immune checkpoint inhibitors led to an increasing interest in the ability of radiation to modulate CD8 T cell responses. Recent studies that carefully analyzed CD8 T cell responses following radiotherapy suggest the beneficial roles of radiotherapy on anti-tumor immunity.
