Background: Our objective was to investigate the characteristics and causes of death in deceased patients with myasthenia gravis (MG).
Methods: This study conducted a retrospective analysis of data from patients with MG in the neurocritical unit at two large general hospitals in China spanning 10Â years, from January 2014 to December 2023. Detailed demographic and clinical information were collected for deceased patients.
Efgartigimod (EFG) is usually used to treat generalized myasthenia gravis (gMG) with long disease duration; the benefit in new-onset gMG remained unknown. This study included 87 new-onset gMG patients who received either oral steroid and immunosuppressive treatment (Conventional group, n = 30) or combined with EFG (EFG group, n = 57). The primary outcome was minimal symptom expression (MSE) responders, as denoted by a Myasthenia Gravis Activities of Daily Living (MG-ADL) of 0 or 1 for over 4 weeks.

Therefore, this study aims to investigate the correlation between sGFAP and sNfL levels and the activity, severity of attacks, disability in patients with NMOSD.
Methods: SGFAP and sNfL levels were measured in healthy controls (HCs) (n = 20) and patients with NMOSD (n = 86; 50 during attack and 50 in remission) using ultrasensitive single-molecule array assays.

Background: The literature lacks consistent information on the correlation between baseline body mass index (BMI), clinical presentation, and prognosis in patients with myasthenia gravis (MG). This observational multicenter prospective cohort study included patients with MG from February 2017 to June 2023, categorizing them by baseline BMI. The primary outcome was the time to generalization of ocular MG.

Methods: Fifty-six NDE patients in a drug naïve state, 26 FUS patients, and 31 healthy controls (HCs) were compared on microstates features of 21-channel resting-state EEG without artifact. Four classic EEG microstates (A, B, C and D) were derived.
Renal fibrosis is a key pathological process in the progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD). Panaxatriol saponins (PTS), the main bioactive compounds extracted from , have demonstrated antioxidative and anti-inflammatory activities. This study aimed to investigate the potential protective effects of PTS against renal fibrosis and explore the underlying pharmacological mechanisms.

Unlike most animals, these invertebrates lack mouths and digestive systems. Instead, their plumes function as the primary organ for direct metabolic exchange with the environment.

Cuproptosis, a novel form of cell death triggered by copper ion accumulation, has shown potential in cancer therapy, particularly through the involvement of CuLncs. This study aims to identify risk signatures associated with CuLncs in OC, construct a prognostic model, and explore potential therapeutic drugs and the impact of CuLncs on OC cell behavior.

Background: While numerous studies have investigated the onset features of myasthenia gravis (MG) complicated with myocarditis, there are few articles focusing on the prognosis of patients with both diseases. This study aims to examine mortality in patients with MG who also have myocarditis, and to summarize the clinical characteristics of deceased patients with both conditions.
Results: A total of 91 patients with MG were included in our study, of which 19 (20.

Nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) is involved in various important biological processes, such as inflammation, apoptosis, and cell proliferation. Here, we analyzed the function of NF-κB in transplantation immunity and pearl formation using its inhibitor, pyrrolidinedithiocarbamic acid (PDTC), in the pearl oyster Pinctada fucata martensii. The levels of pro-inflammatory factors (IL-17 and TNF-α) were lower and activity of antioxidant-related enzymes was higher in the transplanted pearl oysters pre-treated with PDTC than in transplanted pearl oysters pre-treated with phosphate-buffered saline (PBS).

Niacin can treat dyslipidemia and can lower overall cardiovascular event incidence and mortality rates. The present study was designed to clarify the link between dietary consumption of niacin and cardiovascular mortality.

Objective: The aim of this study is to ascertain whether COVID-19 Omicron infection is associated with exacerbations in these myasthenia gravis (MG) patients.
Result: In total, 289 MG patients (comprising 60% females, with an average age of 46 ± 15 years) were enrolled. A total of 80.
Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins (hnRNPs), a group of proteins that control gene expression, have been implicated in many post-transcriptional processes. SYNCRIP (also known as hnRNP Q), a subtype of hnRNPs, has been reported to be involved in mRNA splicing and translation. In addition, the deregulation of SYNCRIP was found in colorectal cancer (CRC).

Due to the complex tumor immune microenvironment (TIME) among ovarian cancer, only a few patients have an immune response to immunotherapy. To investigate the differences in immune function and identify potential biomarkers in OC, we established a prognostic risk scoring model (PRSM) with differential expression of immune-related genes (IRGs) to identify critical prognostic IRG signatures.

Methods: Serum immunoglobin (Ig) G antibodies against CMV and EBV were measured in patients with NMOSD and healthy controls (HCs), including anti-CMV, anti-EBV nuclear antigen-1 (EBNA-1), anti-EBV virus capsid antigen (VCA), and anti-EBV early antigen (EA) IgGs.
Background: Immune system dysfunction and blood-brain barrier (BBB) impairment are implicated in multiple sclerosis (MS) risk and severity. However, the causal relationships and potential therapeutic targets remain unclear.
Methods: Leveraging the MRC IEU OpenGWAS data infrastructure, we extracted 1254 peripheral immune systems and 792 BBB biomarkers as genetic instruments for exposure.
Background: Gut microbiota alterations in multiple sclerosis (MS) patients have been reported in observational studies, but whether these associations are causal is unclear.
Objective: We performed a Mendelian randomization study (MR) to assess the causal effects of gut microbiota on MS.
Methods: Independent genetic variants associated with 211 gut microbiota phenotypes were selected as instrumental variables from the largest genome-wide association studies (GWAS) previously published by the MiBioGen study.
Tourism efficiency has become an important role in promoting tourism competitiveness and driving sustainable development. It is particularly important to identify and agnalyze the factors and mechanisms that affect efficiency. This paper firstly evaluates the tourism efficiency of 11 coastal provinces regions in China from 2010 to 2020 by using the DEA-BBC model that includes undesirable outputs.

NMOSD is presently categorized as anti-AQP4-antibody (Ab) positive or negative based on AQP4-Ab presence. The association between antibody titers and patient prognosis remains unclear.

The Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS) score at each attack, response to immunosuppressive therapy, risk of first relapse, severe attack, visual disability, motor disability, and total risk of disability were compared between Tibetan and Han Chinese patients. Tibetan patients showed higher EDSS during acute attacks.

Objective: We used two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) to assess the causal relationship between MS and cortical structure.
Methods: MS data as the exposure trait, including 14,498 cases and 24,091 controls, were obtained from the International Multiple Sclerosis Genetics Consortium.
