Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the cytotoxicity of directly-printed aligners (DPAs) by simulating sequential elution under oral conditions. The research also sought to identify leachable compounds and their potential effects on human gingival fibroblasts (HGFs).
Methods: DPAs were fabricated using a 3D printing system and cut into small pieces for immersion in artificial saliva.
Prior denosumab use in osteoporosis patients diminishes the BMD gains from a subsequent 12-mo romosozumab regimen. However, few studies have explored BMD gains after 24 mo of romosozumab therapy. BMD at the LS-BMD, FN-BMD, and TH-BMD and P1NP and C-terminal telopeptide of type I collagen (CTX) levels were measured after 24 mo of romosozumab therapy in 3 osteoporosis cases with prior denosumab use.

The synthesized hydroxamic acids were evaluated for HDAC inhibitory activity using nuclear extracts from HeLa cells. -hydroxybenzamide derivatives (7a-i) exhibited stronger HDAC inhibition than their -hydroxypropenamide counterparts (11a-i).

Backgruound: This study assessed risk stratification and diagnostic performance for malignancy in thyroid nodules diagnosed as follicular neoplasm (FN) based on core needle biopsy (CNB) subcategories.
Methods: A total of 313 consecutive nodules (>1 cm) diagnosed as FN on CNB with corresponding surgical histology were included. FN subcategories were classified retrospectively for nodules diagnosed before 2022 (retrospective dataset) and prospectively for nodules diagnosed since 2022 (prospective dataset).
Background: Despite the necessity of long-term management for fracture risk reduction, adherence to osteoporosis pharmacotherapy remains poor. We investigated the factors influencing adherence to pharmacotherapy among Korean patients with osteoporosis, with a particular focus on treatment with bisphosphonates (BPs).
Methods: Data from 725,313 osteoporosis patients newly prescribed BPs or selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs) between 2012 and 2014, obtained from the Korean National Health Insurance Service, were analyzed.
Background: Osteoporosis is a significant public health issue in aging populations. Despite advances in pharmacotherapy, underdiagnosis and undertreatment remain prevalent even in patients with recent fractures. This study examined 20-year trends (2002- 2022) in anti-osteoporotic medication (AOM) usage in South Korea.

In this study, we performed whole-genome sequencing (WGS) analysis to determine the genetic characteristics of L. monocytogenes from the carcasses and environments of cattle and pig slaughterhouses in Korea.

Methods: Utilizing the Korean National Health Insurance Service (NHIS) registry from January 2006 to December 2022, individuals over 50 years with ankle fractures were identified.
Introduction: Construction sites are prone to numerous safety risk factors, but safety managers have difficulty managing these risk factors for practical reasons. Moreover, manually identifying multiple risk factors visually is challenging. Therefore, this study aims to propose a deep learning model-based multi-label risk factor recognition (MRFR) framework that automatically recognizes multiple potential material and human risk factors at construction sites.

Despite its severity, preoperative diagnosis is challenging, often only confirmed during surgery. Therefore, we analyzed various factors that could predict acute gangrenous cholecystitis in patients undergoing cholecystectomy.

Design: Retrospective longitudinal cohort study comparing SOAP-treated infants with RS (treatment group) with age-matched healthy controls (HC) using computed tomography (CT).
Setting: Single tertiary referral hospital.
Unlabelled: Methicillin-resistant (MRSA) is a drug-resistant pathogen causing subclinical and clinical bovine mastitis. This study examined the molecular properties, biofilm formation, virulence genes, and antimicrobial susceptibility of MRSA isolates from mastitis-infected dairy cow milk in South Korea. Whole-genome sequencing of an ST22-SCC IV MRSA strain positive for Panton-Valentine leukocidin (PVL) and toxic shock syndrome toxin-1 (TSST-1) was also performed.

Objective: This study evaluates the effect of antiresorptive agents (ARs) on mortality risk in postmenopausal women with osteoporosis.
Design: This is a nationwide cohort study using data from the National Screening Program for Transitional Ages (2008-2017).

Background: Accurate intraoperative identification of normal parathyroid glands (PTGs) is vital to avoid hypocalcemia post total thyroidectomy. Although ultrasonography (US) has been shown to identify normal PTGs, the significance of preoperative US PTG mapping in this context is not well studied. This study evaluated the impact of preoperative US PTG mapping on intraoperative identification of normal PTGs during total thyroidectomy.

The prediction of TCR-epitope interactions remains challenging especially for novel epitopes, due to the scarcity of available data.
Results: We propose TSpred, a new deep learning approach for the pan-specific prediction of TCR binding specificity based on paired chain TCR data.
Fibrous dysplasia (FD) poses a therapeutic challenge due to the dysregulated extracellular matrix (ECM) accumulation within affected bone tissues. In this study, we investigate the therapeutic potential of 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 (1,25(OH)D) in managing FD by examining its effects on FD-derived cells in vitro. Our findings demonstrate that 1,25(OH)D treatment attenuates the pro-fibrotic phenotype of FD-derived cells by suppressing the expression of key pro-fibrotic markers and inhibiting cell proliferation and migration.
