Advanced multi-channel acoustic emission (AE) monitoring systems often rely on complex and costly architectures, especially those requiring custom FPGA-based hardware. In this work, we present a digital signal processing (DSP)-based approach to high-performance AE acquisition, implemented using a simplified analog front-end (AFE) and a commercially available synchronous data acquisition (DAQ) card (NI USB-6356). This design eliminates the need for specialized FPGA development, improving accessibility and reducing system complexity.

Background And Objectives: Rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder (RBD) is increasingly recognized in patients with tauopathies, but its significance and underpinnings remain unclear. To address this gap, we investigated the prevalence of self-reported RBD in patients with progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) and explored its clinical and imaging correlates using F-florzolotau PET imaging.

Methods: We consecutively enrolled patients meeting the 2017 Movement Disorder Society clinical criteria for PSP at a Chinese tertiary hospital between May 2019 and March 2022.

Background: Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) commonly exhibits a complex neuropathology, sharing characteristics with Alzheimer's disease (AD), including tau aggregates. However, studies using the F-AV-1451 tau tracer have shown inconsistent findings regarding both the extent and topographical distribution of tau pathology in DLB.

Objectives: Our aim was to elucidate the topographical patterns of tau deposition in DLB and to investigate the in vivo pathological distinction between DLB and AD in virtue of the F-Florzolotau positron emission tomography (PET) imaging.

Background: HIV-infected persons demonstrate notable disturbances in their intestinal microbiota; however, the impact of intestinal microbiota on HIV susceptibility in men who have sex with men (MSM), as well as the effects of HIV and antiretroviral therapy (ART) on their gut microbiota, remains under active study. Thus, our research focuses on clarifying the distinctions in intestinal microbiota composition among uninfected MSM and non-MSM healthy controls, investigating the alterations in early-stage intestinal microbial communities following HIV infection, and assessing how ART affects the intestinal microbiota.

Methods: This study enrolled four participant groups: uninfected MSM, Recent HIV-1 infection (RHI) MSM, MSM on ART, and non-MSM healthy controls, with 30 individuals in each group.

Diabetic cardiovascular autonomic neuropathy (DCAN) is a common complication of diabetes mellitus which brings about high mortality, high morbidity, and large economic burden to the society. Compensatory tachycardia after myocardial ischemia caused by DCAN can increase myocardial injury and result in more damage to the cardiac function. The inflammation induced by hyperglycemia can increase P2X7 receptor expression in the superior cervical ganglion (SCG), resulting in nerve damage.
