Synthesis of (AIS) nanoparticles and spectroscopic investigation of energy transfer phenomena are described. Powder XRD identified broad diffraction peaks that are consistent with the tetragonal chalcopyrite phase of NPs. Tetragonal structure was confirmed by the interplanar spacing indices and peak positions, with a shift in XRD peaks, indicating reduced lattice parameters due to increased concentration.

A roof-shaped molecule forming exclusively a nematic liquid crystal phase is prepared based on a lead structure. The aspect ratio is designed to be almost optimum with respect to the molecular biaxiality. A broad nematic phase over more than 100 K is observed in which a weak, transient biaxial alignment can be induced under specific thermal and mechanical conditions.

Fibro-osseous tunnels allow the unhindered passage of the neurovascular bundle and sliding tendons across the mobile joint. Release of the fibro-osseous tunnels is performed for entrapment neuropathy and stenosing tenosynovitis which occur as a result of increase in the volume/pressure within these tunnels. The common surgical principle in all these pathologies is releasing the pressure by transecting the fascial covering.

Percutaneous C-arm-guided diagnostic or therapeutic vertebral intervention has advantages of real-time monitoring of needle progression in vertebrae in craniocaudal or caudocranial angulation. To minimize the complications of nerve root or spinal cord damage, stepwise methodical intervention is pertinent. In this technical report, we demonstrate the seven golden steps for a safe and effective C-arm-guided vertebral intervention.

Bone or soft tissue sarcoma of the extremity represents a varied group of mesenchymal tumors, with an extensive range of histopathology, epidemiology, and anatomical involvement. Many of these tumors grow to involve the adjacent major neurovascular bundles, leading to a paradigm shift of management between limb salvage and limb amputation. MRI is the gold standard imaging modality for assessing neurovascular involvement, primarily on T2-weighted fat suppressed (T2 W FS) axial and T1-weighted (T1 W) axial sequences.

Corporations, as major contributors to carbon emissions, face mounting pressure to adopt genuine sustainability practices. However, the rise of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) disclosures has concurrently given rise to greenwashing-misleading claims that erode stakeholder trust and obstruct sustainability progress. Despite the widespread acknowledgment of greenwashing, there is a notable gap in research identifying the key factors that can mitigate it.

The development of LA-ICPMS and LA-MC-ICPMS resulted in analytical methods for zircon geochronology using a 20- to 60-μm laser spot size. A high amount of complexly zoned zircons promotes the requirement of U-Pb dating at smaller spot sizes. When spot size reduces, downhole fractionation (DHF) increases, increasing the DHF discrepancy between zircon grains and the primary reference zircon standard and resulting in inaccurate results.

Research on long-term follow-up in individuals who have recovered from coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) would yield insights regarding their immunity status and identify those who need booster vaccinations. This study evaluated the longevity of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)-specific cellular and humoral memory responses, as well as T cell effector functionalities, at 1-2 months ( = 40), 8-9 months ( = 40), and 12 months/1 year ( = 27) following recovery from SARS-CoV-2 infection. CTL response by enzyme-linked immunospot (ELISPOT); levels of cytokine by Bio-Plex, natural killer (NK), CD4+ helper, and CD8+ cytotoxic T cell functionalities using flow cytometry; anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG by ELISA; and levels of neutralizing antibodies (NAbs) by surrogate virus NAb assay were assessed.

Background: The membrane transporters viz. multidrug and toxic compound extrusion (MATE) and aluminum-activated malate transporter (ALMT) are associated with aluminum (Al) tolerance by accelerating secretion of organic acids, which can influence nutrient availability and stress response. However, such transporter families have not yet been reported in lentil under Al stress condition.

In short-range microwave imaging, the collection of data in real environments for the purpose of developing techniques for target detection is very cumbersome. Simultaneously, to develop effective and efficient AI/ML-based techniques for target detection, a sufficiently large dataset is required. Therefore, to complement labor-intensive and tedious experimental data collected in a real cluttered environment, synthetic data generation via cost-efficient electromagnetic wave propagation simulations is explored in this article.

An optical vortex is characterized by its donut-shaped intensity distribution and helical phase structure. In this study, we demonstrate that an optical vortex beam, generated by a spatial light modulator, can trap, circulate, and rotate liquid crystal microdroplets of various sizes at different positions within the beam. Our findings indicate that larger microdroplets are trapped at intensity minima without altering their internal liquid crystal orientation, which is fluid by nature, and the rotation of microdroplets were observed.

The management of aggressive bone tumours requires a multidisciplinary approach, with radiologists playing a central role alongside clinicians and pathologists. Radiologists contribute significantly to diagnosing benign and some aggressive tumours, although complex cases often need histopathological confirmation. Their expertise in tumour characterization and extension assessment is crucial for treatment planning.
