Porous piezoelectric ceramics exhibit a unique combination of high piezoelectric charge coefficients ( ) and low permittivity compared to their dense counterparts, which is desirable for achieving high piezosensing and energy harvesting performance. A further enhancement in performance can be achieved by inducing crystallographic texturing within the porous lead-free piezoceramic matrix while maintaining the aligned porous structure. Here, we report a process demonstrating the use of directional freeze-casting of BaTiO platelets to fabricate lead-free porous textured BaTiO ceramics with highly aligned porosity.

The study aimed to investigate pro-inflammatory and immune mediator transcripts in endometrium along with haematological and histopathological evaluation in healthy and clinically diagnosed CEH-pyometra conditions. The current study involved total 20 bitches from various breeds, weighing between 25 and 45 kg and aged 2-6 years.

However, it remains challenging to develop an optoelectronic nose-based instrument for multiple analyte identification in real-world applications due to the complex fabrication approach of the CSA. Aiming to address this challenge, we propose a simple approach for the fabrication of a disposable CSA via the integration of self-adhesive paper and porous colorimetric silica microparticles.

In this article, we have proposed a sensor capable of sensing and detecting various blood constituents within the terahertz frequency range. Our model has been constructed using COMSOL Multiphysics software, and we have analyzed the optical properties using the full vectorial finite-element method (FV-FEM). A solid core is chosen for the proposed sensor due to its unique ability to transmit light across a wide range of wavelengths.

NS analogues are approved for treating postpartum depression and are of interest in other disorders. Gamma-aminobutyric acid type A (GABA) receptors are well characterised targets of natural NS, but other biological pathways are likely relevant to therapeutic mechanisms and/or to off-target effects.

Thalidomide has been used as a repurposed drug for treating multiple myeloma since 1997. Several novel anticancer drugs containing thalidomide active moiety has been discovered since then. Many thalidomide drug candidates with tuned linker size have been instrumental in inhibiting histone deacetylase, kinase, transcription factors etc.

Ground-based radar for space surveillance has been a central area of research since the early Space Age, with recent advancements emphasizing the use of bistatic radar systems that incorporate sensitive radio telescopes as receivers. This approach offers a cost-effective and scalable solution for monitoring space debris.

Difficult venous access is characterized by non-visible and non-palpable veins; a highly experienced operator is required with the use of technological aids to insert a vascular device. Patients with difficult venous cannulation undergo multiple, painful attempts to gain peripheral venous access. Compared to adults, inserting a central venous cannulation (CVC) is thought to be a more difficult procedure in children, particularly in neonates and young infants.

An efficient kinetic resolution was observed, which led to an enrichment of one oxetane enantiomer as the major enantiomer (15 examples, 37-50% yield, 93-99% ). The minor enantiomer underwent decomposition, and the decomposition products were carefully analyzed.

Expansion microscopy (ExM) is an attractive option for accomplishing this aim; however, the expansion of even mouse embryos at mid- and late-developmental stages, which have fewer calcified body parts than adult mice, is yet to be demonstrated due to the challenges of expanding calcified tissues. Here, we introduce a state-of-the-art ExM technique, termed whole-body ExM, that utilizes cyclic digestion.

Selective laser sintering (SLS) is one of the prominent methods of polymer additive manufacturing (AM). A low-power laser source is used to directly melt and sinter polymer material into the desired shape. This study focuses on the utilization of the low-power laser SLS system to successfully manufacture metallic components through the development of a metal-polymer composite material.

Simultaneously, to develop effective and efficient AI/ML-based techniques for target detection, a sufficiently large dataset is required. Therefore, to complement labor-intensive and tedious experimental data collected in a real cluttered environment, synthetic data generation via cost-efficient electromagnetic wave propagation simulations is explored in this article.
