This study investigates the strong robustness of perfect Laguerre-Gaussian (PLG) beams in orbital angular momentum (OAM) multiplexing systems compared to Laguerre-Gaussian (LG) beams. We demonstrate that PLG beams, with an optimal beam waist of approximately 0.07 m, exhibit superior turbulence resistance properties.

Rationale: Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) is a genetic disorder of mesenchymal hypoplasia and collagen defects. Whether abnormal type I collagen predisposes OI patients to multilevel lumbar disc herniation remains unclear.
Patient Concerns: An 18-year-old male with childhood-diagnosed type I OI (fragility fractures, blue sclera, dentinogenesis imperfecta, severe osteoporosis) developed progressive low-back pain and bilateral radiculopathy.
Study Design: A retrospective study.
Purpose: Some studies have found the correlation between traumatic vertebral fractures and intervertebral disc vacuum phenomenon (IVP), but the study about relationship between thoracolumbar fractures and IVP at one year after fracture is lacking. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to analyze the prevalence of fracture-associated IVP (FAVP) in patients with thoracolumbar spine fracture at 1 year postoperatively and discover the related factors.
To evaluate the effects of an endoscopic aqueous environment on the viability and differentiation capacity of autologous bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) enriched with β-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP). A screening-enrichment-combination circulating system (SECCS) was used to prepare MSCs/β-TCP from a patient. A simulated aqueous flushing environment for spinal endoscopic surgery was established with different flushing times (0-60 min).

Background: Gouty arthritis is a rheumatic disease characterized by synovial inflammation and cartilage damage. Current therapeutic options for gouty arthritis, such as colchicine, primarily relieve the symptoms, which makes treatment challenging.
Methods: We employed an in vitro co-culture system of chondrocytes and macrophages to simulate gouty arthritis and screen compounds that can inhibit monosodium urate (MSU) associated macrophage inflammation and chondrocytes degeneration.

Compared to horizontal transmission, the oceanic dissipation rate and temperature-salinity distribution ratio are no longer constant but vary with depth, imposing greater complexity on oceanic turbulence when beams propagate through a slant path and resulting in more limitations on the performance of underwater wireless optical communication (UWOC) links. This study focuses on investigating the performance, especially the auto-focusing characteristic, of auto-focusing hypergeometric Gaussian (AHGG) beams propagating along slant paths in oceanic turbulence. We theoretically derive the spatial coherence radius and the relative probability of the orbital angular momentum (OAM) mode for AHGG beams passing through such links.

In this study, a total of 60 male C57BL/6 mice were divided into 5 groups, namely sham, model, AR, AAR, and AR-AAR. In the sham group, the chest was opened without ligation.

Purpose: The study objectives were as follows: 1) to analyze the factors influencing the occurrence of the intravertebral shell phenomenon (ISP) after thoracolumbar spinal fracture surgery and the evolutionary outcome of this phenomenon; and 2) to make recommendations for the clinical prevention and treatment of ISP.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 331 patients with single-segment fractures of the thoracolumbar spine treated with internal fixation via a pedicle screw-rod system.

Harmful algal blooms (HABs) caused by lake eutrophication and climate change have become one of the most serious problems for the global water environment. Timely and comprehensive data on HABs are essential for their scientific management, a need unmet by traditional methods. This study constructed a novel digital twin lake framework (DTLF) aiming to integrate, represent and analyze multi-source monitoring data on HABs and water quality, so as to support the prevention and control of HABs.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Aralia taibaiensis is known for its ability to promote blood circulation and dispel blood stasis, activate meridians and remove arthralgia. The saponins of Aralia taibaiensis (sAT) are the main active components that are often used to treat cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. However, it has not been reported whether sAT can improve ischemic stroke (IS) by promoting angiogenesis.

Background: Aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of various surgical interventions for the management of cervical spondylosis due to the ossification of posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL).
Methods: After a comprehensive literature search in electronic databases, studies were selected by following pre-determined eligibility criteria. Random effects meta-analyses were performed to estimate the effect sizes of various surgical approaches in improving Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) scores at latest follow-up and meta-regression analyses were carried out to examine the factors affecting the change in JOA score.
Objective: To explore the technique and clinical results of minimally invasive percutancous plate osteosynthesis (MIPPO) for the treatment of fractures of the distal tibia.
Methods: A retrospective study was conducted to analyze 65 patients with the distal tibia fractures who had been treated with MIPPO. The average age of the patients was 35 years old (ranging from 13 to 75).
