Dermal fillers have gained increasing popularity for their ability to enhance facial symmetry, restore volume, and improve skin texture. However, their use in patients with cancer undergoing active chemotherapy and radiation therapy poses unique challenges, as these treatments can alter both the safety profile and efficacy of filler procedures. Chemotherapy can interfere with normal wound healing and immune responses, warranting a more cautious and individualized approach when considering dermal fillers in this population.

Although surgical resection is the primary treatment for symptomatic CCMs, gamma knife radiosurgery (GKRS) has been considered as an alternative treatment for CCMs with high surgical risk. This study aims to evaluate outcomes of GKRS in the treatment of CCMs.

ObjectivesGenome-wide association studies have identified as a gene linked to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Several single-nucleotide polymorphisms-notably, rs7671167, rs2869967, rs2869966, and rs17014601-are associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease susceptibility and spirometric indices. This study aimed to investigate the association between single-nucleotide polymorphisms and spirometric indices in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and non-chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients and assess the correlation of these single-nucleotide polymorphisms with pulmonary ventilation function.

The intestinal tract, which contains a diverse array of microbiota, including viruses, plays a critical role in animal health and homeostasis. We previously conducted a comparative analysis of the gut microbiota of third-instar larvae of obtained from five different farms and found significant differences in the composition of the gut bacterial microbiota between farms.

The secondary aim of this study was to examine trends in participation in specific types of leisure-time physical activity from 2016 to 2023.
Methods: This repeated cross-sectional study included sport and active recreation data from Ausplay (2016–2023) from a representative sample of participants aged five years and above in Australia.
Saltwater intrusion poses a significant threat to freshwater availability in downstream regions globally, leading to economic losses, compromised water supply, reduced agricultural productivity, social instability, and environmental degradation. This study assesses the extent and drivers of salinity intrusion in the downstream areas of the Vu Gia Thu Bon River basin, central Vietnam, with a particular focus on Da Nang City. The analysis considers the impacts of upstream dam operations and inter-basin water transfers on water supply and irrigation, encompassing both direct and indirect damages.

Percutaneous transhepatic biliary stone removal (PTBD) offers a minimally invasive alternative, but its role in this population is underexplored. This case series assesses PTBD's efficacy and feasibility.

We assessed the impact of pandemic-related disruptions on TB case detection and transmission using a dynamic transmission model calibrated to local demographic and epidemiological observations.
Methods: We developed an age-structured compartmental TB transmission model to estimate COVID-19's impact on TB in Vietnam.
ALECT2 amyloidosis is a rare systemic disease characterized by the pathological deposition of leukocyte cell-derived chemotaxin-2 (LECT2) as amyloid fibrils, primarily affecting the kidneys and liver. The molecular mechanisms underlying LECT2 aggregation remain poorly defined, hindering diagnostic and therapeutic development. Here, we present cryo-electron microscopy structures of ALECT2 fibrils extracted from a patient's kidney.

Objectives: Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD) pose a growing public health challenge in Vietnam. This study describes a community-based screening protocol to identify older adults and their primary family caregivers in Hai Duong province to support recruitment for a caregiver intervention clinical trial.
Methods: Village health workers were trained to identify older adults at risk for dementia using a simplified tool adapted from the California Alzheimer's Disease Centers' Assessment of Cognitive Complaints Toolkit.
Immunosuppressive tumour microenvironments are common in cancers such as metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH)-driven hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) (MASH-HCC). Although immune cell metabolism influences effector function, the effect of tumour metabolism on immunogenicity is less understood. ATP citrate lyase (ACLY) links substrate availability and mitochondrial metabolism with lipid biosynthesis and gene regulation.

Background: Despite the rapid increase in evidence from the past decade on daily steps and health-related outcomes, existing systematic reviews primarily focused on few outcomes, such as all-cause mortality. This study synthesised the prospective dose-response relationship between daily steps and health outcomes including all-cause mortality, cardiovascular disease, cancer, type 2 diabetes, cognitive outcomes, mental health outcomes, physical function, and falls.
Methods: For this systematic review and meta-analysis, we searched PubMed and EBSCO CINAHL for literature published between Jan 1, 2014, and Feb 14, 2025, supplemented by other search strategies.
: Dental anxiety often poses a significant barrier to effective dental care in pediatric patients. This study evaluated the efficacy and safety of oral midazolam at two different doses for sedation and amnesia in preschool children undergoing dental procedures under 30 min, including primary teeth extraction, root canal treatment, dental filling, and stainless-steel crown. : This prospective, double-blind, randomized controlled trial included 80 children aged 3-6 years with dental anxiety (Types 1 and 2 of the Frankl Behavior Rating Scale) at the National Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology, Hanoi.

Mangrove forests are globally acknowledged for stabilizing coastlines, reducing wave energy, and protecting coastal habitats and adjacent land uses from extreme events. However, most regions experience alarming mangrove loss against natural and human disturbances. This study profiles dynamic changes in mangrove cover and shoreline migration along the Yangon estuary using Landsat imagery and machine learning approach from 1988 to 2023.

Methods: We conducted a prospective cohort study among patients treated by the National TB Program (NTP) in ten provinces of Vietnam.
Occupying critical ecological areas at the land-sea interface, mangrove ecosystems are increasingly recognized as potent nature-based solutions supporting diverse sustainable development goals. Leveraging spatially explicit remote sensing for monitoring mangrove biodiversity is essential, however, measurement challenges arise due to their narrow and fragmented distribution over impenetrable muddy substrates compared to terrestrial forests. This study presents the first attempt to map mangrove functional diversity (FD) using a multi-trait-based approach, incorporating key spectral vegetation indexes as well as optically derived functional traits: leaf chlorophyll content (LCC), leaf mass per area (LMA), and equivalent water thickness (EWT) retrieved from Sentinel-2.
