Background: The relationship between disease activity and quality of life (QoL) in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients was explored using network analysis. The focus of network analysis has recently shifted from studying individual groups to comparing the network structures of different subgroups. RA patients with depressive symptoms generally have lower QoL scores, so we compared the QoL networks of RA patients with and without depressive symptoms to test for differences.

Factors affecting undergraduate nursing students' professional commitment: a structural equation modeling analysis.

Background: Previous research has demonstrated that nursing students' professional commitment is less than ideal. However, a clear theoretical model to explain or mediate the factors influencing their professional commitment is currently lacking. Building on Social Cognitive Theory (SCT), this study aimed to describe the current situation regarding the professional commitment of undergraduate nursing students and examine its relationships with psychological resilience, medical education environment, innovation ability, and self-directed learning ability.

Association of ambient air pollution with incident rheumatoid arthritis, subsequent respiratory diseases, and death: A multi-state analysis of a prospective cohort.

Background: Previous studies have mostly examined the separate effects of air pollution exposure on the onset of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) or respiratory diseases. However, no studies have further explored the impact of air pollution on the progression from a baseline healthy population to the onset of RA, followed by the further complication of respiratory diseases and, ultimately, mortality.

Methods: Based on data from the UK Biobank, we included 340,485 participants without RA or respiratory diseases.

Cu(OAc)-Catalyzed Aerobic Oxidative Dehydrogenation Coupling: Synthesis of Heptacyclic Quinolizino[3,4,5,6-kla]perimidines.

A Cu(OAc)-catalyzed domino tricyclization between naphthalene-1,8-diamine and 2-(phenylethynyl)benzaldehyde is described, enabling aerobic oxidative dehydrogenation coupling to access heptacyclic quinolizino[3,4,5,6-kla]perimidines. In this reaction, the formation of three new rings and four new bonds was achieved in a functional-group-compatible fashion, allowing a facile method toward fused aza-heterocycles containing both quinolizine and perimidine moieties.

An iodine-catalyzed reaction of 2-aminobenzamides and mucobromic acid was described and utilized to synthesize a variety of 6-oxo-5,6-dihydrodibenzo[b,h][1,6]naphthyridine-11-carboxamide derivatives in refluxing THF. As the two bromine atoms in mucobromic acid were found missing in the dibenzonaphthyridine products, a domino-type reaction mechanism involving a double elimination of hydrogen bromide was proposed.

The phytoestrogen puerarin has been shown to protect neurons and astrocytes in the brain, and is therefore an attractive drug in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and cerebral ischemia. Whether puerarin exhibits the same biological processes in neurons and astrocytes in vitro has rarely been reported. In this study, cortical neurons and astrocytes of newborn Sprague-Dawley rats were separated, identified and co-cultured in a system based on Transwell membranes.
