Nitrogen is an important nutrient required for plant growth and development, but most of the time plants face nitrogen deficiency, all it is important to study the mechanism of low nitrogen tolerance in plants. This study addresses this gap by investigating the role of the gene through the generation and analysis of transgenic potato lines overexpressing (OE1, OE2, OE3). Exogenous BL treatment showed that the gene responded to oleuropein lactone.

Ureide permeases (UPSs) mediate the transport of ureides, including allantoin and allantoate, which act as nitrogen-transporting compounds in plants and have recently been found to play a role in cellular signaling. To date, UPSs have not been reported in potato, and their identification is important for further function studies and for understanding molecular mechanisms of plant adverse responses. Based on potato genomic data, we identified 10 genes in potato ( L.

To examine the effectiveness of azvudine and nirmatrelvir-ritonavir in treating hospitalized patients with moderate-to-severe COVID-19. We emulated a target trial with a multicenter retrospective cohort of hospitalized adults with moderate-to-severe COVID-19 without contraindications for azvudine or nirmatrelvir-ritonavir between December 01, 2022 and January 19, 2023 (during the Omicron BA.5.

Background: The diagnosis of benign and malignant solitary pulmonary nodules based on personal experience has several limitations. Therefore, this study aims to establish a nomogram for the diagnosis of benign and malignant solitary pulmonary nodules using clinical information and computed tomography (CT) results.

Methods: Retrospectively, we collected clinical and CT characteristics of 1,160 patients with pulmonary nodules in Guang'an People's Hospital and the hospital affiliated with North Sichuan Medical College between 2019 and 2021.

The present study aimed to investigate the role and mechanism of action of ribonucleotide reductase M2 (RRM2) in lung adenocarcinoma and its potential as a therapeutic target. Data of patients with lung adenocarcinoma from The Cancer Genome Atlas database were collected and analyzed to evaluate the potential of RRM2 as a biomarker. The expression of RRM2 was evaluated in the A549 cell line and its cisplatin-resistant A549/DDP cell line derivative by western blot and reverse transcription-quantitative PCR.

Around the world, cancer-related death is primarily caused by lung cancer all the time. MiR-654-3p plays an outstanding role in the development of cancer, but the mechanism of miR-654-3p in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is uncertain. For this purpose, a quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR) was carried out to detect the expression of miR-654-3p and SRC mRNA.

For metastatic/recurrent nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients, a programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) is a controversial option. This meta-analysis aimed to investigate the efficacy and safety of PD-1 inhibitors in patients with metastatic/recurrent NPC. Electronic databases such as PubMed, Embase, Cochrane library, and Web of Science were manually searched until 1 July 2022, and Stata 15.

Article Synopsis
  • GABA (Gamma-aminobutyric acid) is identified as an important amino acid that influences plant growth, but its specific role in potato sprouting was previously unclear.
  • A study found that GABA treatment for 50 days accelerated sprouting, increased soluble sugars, and decreased starch levels, suggesting it positively affects sprouting processes.
  • Proteomics analysis revealed 316 proteins associated with fatty acid and sugar metabolism, and increased expression of peroxidase 42 (StPOD42) was linked to enhanced sprouting, highlighting its potential as a target for breeding to improve potato sprouting.

Article Synopsis
  • A study was conducted to compare the effectiveness and safety of two chemotherapy combinations, gemcitabine plus cisplatin (GP) and 5-fluorouracil plus cisplatin (PF), for patients with metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC).
  • Data from 10 clinical trials were analyzed, revealing that the GP combination resulted in a higher clinical remission rate compared to PF, while both treatments showed similar outcomes in overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS), and distant metastasis-free survival (DMFS).
  • Although GP had a better remission rate, it was associated with more hematological side effects; thus, GP may be recommended as the preferred treatment choice for metastatic NPC.

In this work, the carbon dots (CDs) were prepared by one-pot hydrothermal method with chitosan as a carbon source and hydrogen peroxide as an oxidant, this route is a novel, simple and green. The prepared CDs has a relatively high photoluminescence (PL) quantum yield (QY) (18.9%) and good water solubility.

High salinity is harmful to crop yield and productivity. Peroxidases (PRXs) play crucial roles in HO scavenging. In our previous study, PRX63 significantly upregulated in tobacco plants under salt stress.

Majorana zero modes are usually attributed to topological superconductors. We study a class of two-dimensional topologically trivial superconductors without chiral edge modes, which nevertheless host robust Majorana zero modes in topological defects. The construction of this minimal single-band model is facilitated by the Hopf map and the Hopf invariant.
