Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the pathological aggregation of amyloid-beta (Aβ) peptides, particularly Aβ-42, which plays a central role in disease progression. Soluble Aβ dimers have been implicated as the primary neurotoxic species contributing to synaptic dysfunction and cognitive impairment. In this study, we employ a comprehensive computational framework integrating molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, neural relational inference (NRI) modeling, and largest Lyapunov exponent (LLE) analysis to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying Aβ-42 dimerization and evaluate the inhibitory potential of small molecules, apigenin and caffeine.

The agri-food industry generates huge amounts of waste and byproducts (AFWBs), which threaten the environment if not properly managed. Biological approaches such as fermentation have been proven to be versatile routes for increasing the nutritional potential of AFWBs and production of value-added bioactive compounds. The present paper reviews the results of recent studies that have been conducted on the effect of fermentation of AFWBs from different origins and fermentation techniques on generation of bioactive compounds.

Optimizing the formulation is essential to enhance probiotic viability, sensory quality, and shelf-life stability, thereby supporting the development of a consumer-acceptable and commercially viable non-dairy functional beverage. This study focused on optimizing the fermentation process of apricot-based beverages using three probiotic strains: Lactiplantibacillus plantarum XL963 (LP), Limosilactobacillus fermentum W8 (LF), and Lactiplantibacillus pentosus ML104 (LPN). Fermentation conditions were optimized by varying sugar content (9-15%) and fermentation temperatures (20°C, 28.

Customized cranial implants play a crucial role in neurosurgery, serving to restore cranial integrity and protect the underlying brain tissue after trauma or surgical intervention. Ti-6Al-4V cranial implants exhibit high mechanical strength; however, their solid forms can be excessively heavy and possess a high elastic modulus, leading to stress shielding effects. This study focuses on designing a cranial implant utilizing computer tomography data, incorporating different lattice and porous structures to optimize weight and mechanical performance.

This research examined the treatment of mixed wastewater generated by the anodizing coating industry through electrocoagulation (EC) and electrooxidation (EO) processes. Key operational parameters, initial pH, applied current, and electrolysis time, were systematically varied to optimize contaminant removal. Process optimization was conducted using the Box-Behnken design (BBD), and the statistical validity of the model fit was assessed via analysis of variance (ANOVA).

The first search for a heavy neutral spin-1 gauge boson (Z^{'}) with nonuniversal fermion couplings produced via vector boson fusion processes and decaying to tau leptons or W bosons is presented. The analysis is performed using LHC data at sqrt[s]=13 TeV, collected from 2016 to 2018 with the CMS experiment and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb^{-1}. The data are consistent with the standard model predictions.

This study examined the effectiveness of Luffa cylindrica fibre (LCF), an inexpensive biomass fibre, as a biosorbent for removing the cationic dye Basic Blue 3 (BB3) from aqueous solutions. LCF was pretreated with natural fermented apple cider vinegar (NFACV) to enhance its adsorption capacity. The biosorbent was characterised using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and the point of zero charge (PZC), and its chemical composition was determined using energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS).

Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC), responsible for 20 % of breast cancers cases, is the most lethal and aggressive type. Its resistance to hormonal therapy and frequent development of chemotherapy resistance render conventional treatments inadequate for TNBC. The phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K)/AKT/mTOR pathway, commonly activated in breast cancer, is critical in tumor growth and metastasis.

Background: Parkinson's disease (PD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the degeneration of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra, resulting in dopamine deficiency and motor dysfunction. While levodopa (L-DOPA) remains the gold standard for symptomatic treatment, its long-term administration is associated with complications such as motor fluctuations, dyskinesia, and oxidative stress. Given these limitations, interest has grown in plant-derived bioactive compounds for their potential neuroprotective and disease-modifying effects.
