Food contamination remains a serious global concern due to its health risks, with milk being one of the most commonly adulterated foods in developing countries such as Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh. Accurate detection of milk contamination is essential for ensuring consumer safety and maintaining food industry standards. This study explores both invasive and noninvasive approaches for contamination analysis.

Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the airways. Standard treatments, such as inhaled corticosteroids like fluticasone, beclomethasone, and budesonide, are effective in managing asthma symptoms by reducing inflammation through immune suppression. However, prolonged corticosteroid therapy can impair vitamin D metabolism, exacerbating vitamin D deficiency, which is essential for immune regulation and anti-inflammatory responses via the vitamin D receptor (VDR).

River systems, besides shaping their landscapes through the formation of Fluvisols, can also act as pathways for transporting significant pollutants, affecting both the river and its surrounding areas. One such pollutant is mercury (Hg). To assess the impact on sediments and adjacent riverbanks, including Fluvisols and their vegetation, the alluvial plains near Poland's most important river have been studied to understand this process and propose effective management measures.

Molds readily grow on wet books, documents, and other library materials where they ruin them chemically, mechanically, and aesthetically. Poor maintenance of libraries, failures of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, roof leaks, and storm damage leading to flooding can all result in accelerated fungal growth. Moreover, when fungal spores are present at high concentrations in the air, they can be linked to severe respiratory conditions and possibly to other adverse health effects in humans.

Background/purpose: Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) often leads to persistent neuromuscular deficits, complicating return-to-sport decisions. Reliable functional assessments are needed to guide RTS after ACLR. The main objective was to examine countermovement jump (CMJ) measures to identify which parameters can best distinguish between ACLR and control participants.

The objective of this study is the degradation of a mixture of three pesticides from three distinct families: Metalaxyl (fungicide), Metolachlor (herbicide), and Diazinon (organophosphate Insecticide). In this work, the enhanced advanced oxidation process known as "Photo-Fenton" was first optimized, and the mineralization step was determined. The experimental design and response surface "three-parameter Doehlert design" were employed as the experimental methodology to modeling and optimizing the experimental parameters.

Background: Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is located near critical structures like the hippocampus, essential for memory and cognitive function. While Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT) has improved dose conformity in NPC treatment, the integration of hippocampal-sparing (HS) approaches remains underexplored. This study evaluates the dosimetric feasibility and effectiveness of hippocampal-sparing VMAT (HS-VMAT) in NPC, focusing on reducing radiation exposure to the hippocampus while maintaining target volume coverage.

Usher syndrome is an inherited condition that causes hearing and visual impairments, along with vestibular dysfunction, due to mutations in various genes, including , which codes for the scaffold protein SANS, essential for proper sensory function. This study employed a computational approach in order to analyze the potential impact of missense SNPs in . We started by curating and filtering SNPs from the Ensembl database, followed by a variety of computational prediction methods, such as SIFT, PolyPhen-2, MetaLR, BayesDel_addAF, and MutationTaster, to identify the pathogenic impact of the nsSNPs.

Plants' immobility renders them highly vulnerable to heat stress, which disrupts water relations, photosynthesis, respiration, and cellular homeostasis, ultimately reducing growth and yield. To survive, plants deploy a multifaceted heat stress response (HSR) that integrates calcium signaling, molecular chaperones, antioxidant enzymes, and phytohormonal networks. This review synthesizes recent advances in understanding the molecular crosstalk between phytohormones and protein synthesis during plant heat stress responses, with a particular focus on two key HSR modules: protein synthesis pathways, especially heat shock proteins (HSPs), and phytohormone signaling networks involving abscisic acid, cytokinins, ethylene, salicylic acid, and jasmonic acid.

This work investigates the electroosmotic peristaltic transport of a Casson (blood)-based hybrid nanofluid via an asymmetric channel embedded inside a porous medium. The model takes into consideration electric and magnetic field effects, Ohmic heating, as well as velocity and thermal slip conditions. The governing equations are simplified and solved by employing unsupervised sigmoid-based neural networks (SNNs), Fibonacci-based neural networks (FNNs), and their hybrid model (FSNNs) under the assumptions of low Reynolds number and long wavelength.

Aluminum accumulation in the brain causes cognitive deficits. No comprehensive synthesis of pharmacological treatments against aluminum neurotoxicity has been conducted, which led us to systematically review the effects of various pharmacological agents against aluminum-induced neurotoxicity, primarily addressing learning and memory after chronic aluminum exposure (≥2 months) in rodent models. A literature search was performed in PubMed, Google Scholar, Science Direct, and Scopus for studies published between 2000 and 2023.

Reproductive infertility is characterized by the inability to achieve pregnancy after a year or more of unprotected sexual intercourse. This review highlights the significant impact of exposure to both types of heavy metals (essential and non-essential) on the reproductive performance of various species, particularly humans. Heavy metals present a high atomic density and weight, including lead, mercury, cadmium, nickel, chromium, and arsenic, and are delivered into the environment through natural and human activities, posing a threat to ecological systems and human reproductive health.
