To concentrate omega-3 fatty acids (-3) in fish oil (FO), olein and super olein fraction (OF) of FO were produced by winterization. For this purpose, FO was slowly cooled to -50°C (24 h), the mixture of crystallized and non-crystallized phases was separated, filtrate was coded as OF (yield 32%), 35% of OF was kept for storage study and analytical purpose, remaining 65% was further slowly cooled down to -75°C (24 h) and filtered, filtrate was coded as super olein (SF, yield 23%). GC-MS analysis showed that unsaturated fatty acids increased due to successive winterization.

Rice fish co-culture synergistically boosts food production, resulting in numerous advantages across the environmental, social, and financial domains. A study was conducted to investigate the effects of three different rice spacing densities, rice high density (RHD) 9inch×12inch, rice medium density (RMD) 12inch × 12inch, rice low density (RLD) 15inch×12inchon both rice and fish. Various parameters were assessed to evaluate the performance of the co-culture system, including water quality, growth parameters, muscle quality, soil characteristics, rice stem characteristics, and rice yield parameters.

The current experiment is designed to evaluate the effect of different aquafeeds (farm-made versus commercial) on growth, body composition, oxidative capacity, and fatty acid profile in the semi-intensive composite culture system. For this, 1,100 fingerlings/acre having initial body weight and length, (61.34 g, 171 mm), (71.

Article Synopsis
  • * Akh-2 belongs to the Siphoviridae family, has specific head and tail sizes, and exhibits a latent period of about 50 minutes, with a burst size indicating a strong ability to infect and replicate within host cells.
  • * In experiments, loach fish treated with Akh-2 had higher survival rates during disease induction compared to untreated fish, suggesting its potential use in treating infections in aquatic animals.
