Sexual difficulties are common among Australian men, affecting over half the population regardless of age or sexual identity. It can have significant impacts on physical health, mental well-being, and quality of life if left untreated. The present study aimed to examine sexual difficulty trends, sources of seeking help, and factors associated with sexual help-seeking behavior among a cohort of Australian men.

Emerging infectious diseases increasingly threaten many wildlife populations, yet the impacts of pathogens vary considerably both within and among host species. The environmental tolerance mismatch hypothesis (ETMH) suggests that this variability stems in part from differences in the relative performance of hosts and pathogens under varying environmental conditions. According to the ETMH, pathogen impacts should be more severe in environments where pathogen performance is high and host performance is low, and vice versa.

Background: Drug therapy problems are common in hospitalized patients and may lead to increased hospital stays, healthcare costs, and increased risk of morbidity and mortality. Despite these facts, limited data exist on the magnitude of DTPs and associated factors among adult surgical patients in resource-limited settings, particularly in a current study setting. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the magnitude of DTPs and associated factors among adult surgical patients at study setting in Ethiopia.

Introduction: Interprofessional education aims to prepare future health professionals for collaborative practice by developing essential skills in communication and teamwork. Simulation-based experiences are a popular teaching method in interprofessional education, providing students with safe and supportive learning environments that authentically replicate clinical practice. Developing a strong professional identity is crucial in health professional students, as it fosters a sense of belonging and helps define roles and boundaries within healthcare teams.

Background: Currently, there is no conceptualisation of good mental health for people with intellectual disabilities (ID). To develop an initial shared understanding of good mental health in this population, an inclusive Delphi study with two survey rounds was conducted.
Methods: The Delphi study comprised a total of = 60 participants in the first round, and 53 in the second round.

DNA barcoding is a widely used tool for species identification, with its reliability heavily dependent on reference databases. While the quality of these databases has long been debated, a critical knowledge gap remains in their comprehensive evaluation and comparison at regional scales. Marine metazoan species in the western and central Pacific Ocean (WCPO), a region characterized by high biodiversity and limited sequencing efforts, are an example of this gap.

The past 50 years have seen biomonitoring emerge as an essential means of generating the knowledge needed to inform protection and restoration of freshwater ecosystems. Despite the successes of biomonitoring, most freshwater ecosystems remain unmonitored. Moreover, degradation of freshwaters continues at a rapid rate with new threats and novel stressors emerging that are difficult to assess using existing techniques.

Purpose: Children undergoing general anesthesia have a considerably high risk of emergence delirium (ED), which is a long-underestimated condition. The purpose of this study was to translate and validate the CAPD into traditional Chinese (CAPD-TC), for use with pediatric patients undergoing general anesthesia for elective orthopedic surgery.
Design: A prospective observational study.

Temperature profoundly influences the distribution and diversity of ectotherms, yet in natural settings, interactions between environmental temperatures, behaviour, physiological function and the influence of these factors on individual survival remain poorly understood. In particular, it is unclear as to how trade-offs between these factors are optimised in wild, free-ranging species. We combined temperature-sensitive radio transmitters and accelerometers to measure in situ body temperatures and field-based thermal locomotor performance, estimating thermal optimum and maximum performance.

Objectives: Symptoms related to the menstrual cycle impact the participation, perceived performance, and quality of life of the individual. Yet, the way these symptoms are experienced has not been synthesised, missing the opportunity to reconcile our understanding of best avenues for support.
Design: This systematic review and meta-aggregation focused on female athletes' experiences and perceptions of cycle-related symptomatology.

Introduction: Metabolic dysfunction associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) has replaced NAFLD as the diagnostic standard. This study aimed to validate non-invasive tests (NITs) for hepatic steatosis and fibrosis, originally used for NAFLD, in predicting MASLD and advanced fibrosis, respectively, compared to transient elastography (TE).
Methods: This cross-sectional study used the NHANES database (2017-2020).

Background: Despite surgically successful total knee arthroplasties, up to 20% of patients are dissatisfied postoperatively. A factor thought to influence dissatisfaction is the alignment strategy utilized. Inconsistencies in safe zone definitions between neutral and kinematic alignment strategies have limited previous systematic reviews.

Background: As an inter-individual psychological and behavioural construct, coachability is hypothesised to be a fundamental determinant of learning and performance enhancement within sport, business and education domains. Despite its perceived importance, consensus on a precise definition and its exact dimensional components has yet to be established.
Objectives: This systematic review aimed to: (1) establish consensus on a common definition and (2) identify consistent constituent component constructs of coachability evident in the literature.

People with young-onset dementia in Australia face significant challenges due to inconsistencies in diagnostic and post-diagnostic care. These challenges stem from a general lack of knowledge of young-onset dementia, limited age-appropriate supports, and inconsistent services that are available for people with young-onset dementia. The lack of awareness, insufficient professional training, and inadequacies in services exacerbate these challenges, and geographic disparities exist.

The wolf fish is a Neotropical species characterized by remarkable karyotypic diversity, including seven karyomorphs (KarA-G) with distinct sex chromosome systems. This study investigated the homologous XY (KarF) and XYY (KarG) sex chromosome systems present in this species by integrating cytogenetics and genomics to examine sex chromosomes' composition through characterization of repeatome (satellite DNA and transposable elements) and sex-linked markers. Our analysis indicated that both karyomorphs are little differentiated in their sex chromosomes content revealed by satDNA mapping and putative sex-linked markers.

The transition to motherhood can be particularly challenging for women with limited socioeconomic resources or mental health concerns. The FAmily Clinic And Municipality (FACAM) intervention was designed to provide additional support through health visitors or family therapists, starting in pregnancy and continuing until the child reached school age. This paper evaluates the effects of the FACAM intervention on the secondary outcomes, maternal mental health and parental functioning during the child's first year of life.

Cyclic breast pain (mastalgia) is speculatively associated with hormonal fluctuations during the menstrual cycle. No research to date has quantified this effect through circulating concentrations of estradiol and progesterone in a sample of female athletes. Such data are essential for understanding how hormonal changes contribute to the incidence and severity of cyclic breast pain, with implications for enhancing breast pain management and athletic performance in women's sport.

Introduction: Frailty likely contributes to disproportionate health care utilization among people living with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and undergoing hemodialysis (HD); but this is poorly captured in nephrology clinical and research practice. We examined Fried frailty phenotype among participants with CKD or on HD and explored associations with health care utilization. We examined frailty transitions in relation to hospitalization.
