School interethnic climate has interpersonal and intrapersonal implications for adolescent development, but little is known of how it influences their psychological adjustment over time, let alone what drives this influence. This study examined whether two components of identity-school belonging perceptions and ethnic-racial identity beliefs-mediate the association between 10th grade perceptions of school interethnic climate and 12th grade psychological adjustment. The analytic sample includes 849 students (50% girls; 30% Latinx, 27% White, 16% Asian/Pacific Islander, 18% Multiethnic, 6% African American/Black, 3% Other).

Indocyanine green (ICG) is a well-established near-infrared dye which has been used clinically for several decades. Recently, it has been utilised for fluorescence-guided surgery in a range of solid cancer types, including sarcoma, with the aim of reducing the positive margin rate. The increased uptake and retention of ICG within tumours, compared with normal tissue, gives surgeons a visual reference to aid resection when viewed through a near-infrared camera.

Background: Catheter ablation is beneficial in patients with symptomatic persistent atrial fibrillation (PerAF), and pulsed field ablation (PFA) is a promising energy source to safely and durably create ablation lesions. However, catheter-specific "PFA waveforms and designs" result in effectiveness and safety profiles that are not transferable to other PFA technologies. A head-to-head comparison between the dual-energy, wide-footprint lattice-tip (Sphere-9, Medtronic) and pentaspline PFA catheter (Farawave, Boston Scientific) is not yet available.

Do generic population utility scores accurately represent real-world experienced health?

Qual Life Res

September 2025

School of Pharmacy, CHOICE Institute, University of Washington, 1956 NE Pacific St H362, Seattle, WA, 98195, USA.

Purpose: Typically, cost-effectiveness analyses use societal utility weights for health states. These anticipated utility weights are derived from asking the general population to assess the impacts of hypothetical health states on their quality-of-life. This study evaluates how these weights align with real-world self-reported experienced health statuses.

Department of Translational Research, College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, Western University of Health Sciences, Pomona, CA, 91766-1854, USA.

Regenerative cardiology has emerged as a novel strategy to improve cardiac healing following ischemic injury. While stem-cell-mediated cardiac regeneration has garnered much attention as a promising strategy, its value remains debated owing to the lack of ideal stem cell source candidates. Resident/endogenous cardiac-derived stromal cells (CSCs) exhibit superior therapeutic potential due to their innate abilities to differentiate into cardiac cells, especially cardiomyocytes (CM).

Vascularization of implanted biomaterials is critical to reconstructive surgery and tissue engineering. Ultimately, the goal is to promote a rapidly perfusable hierarchical microvasculature that persists with time and can meet underlying tissue needs. We have previously shown that using a microsurgical technique, termed micropuncture (MP), in combination with porous granular hydrogel scaffolds (GHS) fabricated via interlinking hydrogel microparticles (microgels) results in a rapidly perfusable patterned microvasculature.

Direct Effects of Polyploidization on Floral Scent.

J Chem Ecol

September 2025

Department of Environment and Biodiversity, University of Salzburg, Hellbrunner Strasse 34, Salzburg, 5020, Austria.

Polyploidy is an important driver of the evolution and diversification of flowering plants. Several studies have shown that established polyploids differ from diploids in floral morphological traits and that polyploidization directly affects these traits. However, for floral scent, which is key to many plant-pollinator interactions, only a few studies have quantified differences between established cytotypes, and the direct effects of polyploidization on floral scent are not yet known.

September 2025

Department of Mathematics, Siena University, 515 Loudon Road, Loudonville, NY, 12211, USA.

Autonomous differential equation compartmental models hold broad utility in epidemiology and public health. However, these models typically cannot account explicitly for myriad factors that affect the trajectory of infectious diseases, with seasonal variations in host behavior and environmental conditions as noteworthy examples. Fortunately, using non-autonomous differential equation compartmental models can mitigate some of these deficiencies, as the inclusion of time-varying parameters can account for temporally varying factors.
