In this paper, a robust and effective control strategy, termed high-order prescribed convergence law control (HO-PCL), is introduced for wind energy conversion systems. This innovative strategy is applied to the rotor-side converter of a doubly-fed induction generator-based wind power system and is specifically designed to address the limitations of conventional control methods, such as super-twisting algorithm (STA), integral backstepping control (IBCS), and first-order sliding mode control (1-SMC), which are prone to the chattering phenomenon. The HO-PCL strategy facilitates the independent regulation of active and reactive power, with the primary objective of enhancing the system's dynamic response by improving response time and minimizing power error.

The NOVA food classification system and its categorisation of ultra-processed foods (UPFs) have significantly influenced dietary guidelines worldwide, yet the assumption that all UPFs are uniformly harmful warrants critical examination. Here, a review of evidence revealed substantial heterogeneity in health outcomes across UPF subtypes, with products like sugar-sweetened beverages consistently associated with adverse outcomes while fortified cereals and certain dairy products demonstrate neutral or protective effects. The binary nature of NOVA's classification fails to account for nutritional composition, fortification benefits, and cultural food traditions, creating inconsistencies in categorisation across different contexts.

Problem: While predictors of individual maternal healthcare service (MHS) indicators are studied, there is a knowledge gap in low and middle-income countries (LMICs) regarding the continuum of MHS utilization.
Background: The continuum of maternal healthcare services (MHS) utilization refers to a systematic approach that ensures integrated and effective service(s) delivery across pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum periods. Continuity in maternal healthcare from antepartum to postpartum stages can reduce the combined risk of neonatal, perinatal, and maternal mortality by up to 15 %, essential for reducing maternal mortality and ensuring overall health during pregnancy and childbirth.

Renal denervation (RDN) is an adjunct therapy for resistant hypertension, reducing blood pressure (BP) by inhibiting both afferent sensory and efferent sympathetic renal nerve activity. The resulting reduction in central sympathetic outflow including that directed toward the heart may beneficially impact cardiac remodeling, left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) and atrial fibrillation (AF). RDN has been shown to reduce left ventricular mass and AF burden but long-term data is sparse.

This paper investigates the problem of the observer-based resilient event-triggered control for stochastic Markovian jump systems subject to probabilistic cyber attacks, actuator failures, and controller gain variations. The observer is modelled to estimate all state information of the system from measurement outputs, and then the controller is designed using observer states. Besides, probabilistic cyber attacks have a significant negative impact on communication security in networked control systems, potentially leading to a decrease in system stability and performance.

The nature of the mental health profession inherently puts its workers at risk of heightened psychological stress. This raises the importance of understanding why some mental health professionals show greater resilience when faced with common work stressors than others. One work stressor that has been consistently linked with stress is workload.

Globally, rice cultivation consumes large amounts of fresh water, and urgent improvements in water use efficiency (WUE) are needed to ensure sustainable production, given increasing water scarcity. While stomatal traits have been a primary focus for enhancing WUE, complex interactions between stomatal and non-stomatal leaf traits remain poorly understood. In this review, we present an analysis of stomatal and non-stomatal leaf traits influencing WUE in rice.

Objective: Current preclinical epilepsy drug screening relies on animal models that poorly reflect human neurophysiology, leading to high failure rates in clinical translation. We aimed to establish a human in vitro model using human-induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC)-derived cortical neurons cultured on multielectrode arrays (MEAs), capable of generating precisely controlled after-discharges (ADs) through electrical stimulation. We optimized stimulation parameters to evoke epileptiform-like hypersynchronous events and validated the model using six approved antiseizure medications (ASMs).
