Background: Diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) are a serious complication of diabetes that can lead to significant morbidity. Autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP), rich in growth factors and cytokines, has emerged as a promising treatment to enhance ulcer healing. This study aimed to compare the clinical and histological efficacy of injected PRP versus topically applied PRP and traditional wound care in the management of DFUs.

The presence of radiotoxic uranium (U) in mineral fertilizers is of global concern. A pilot study was conducted in Tabora (Tanzania) to determine the release of U from three brands of phosphate fertilizers and its impact on soil bacteria. The experiment used three types of fertilizer: Minjingu Powder (MP), Nafaka Plus (NP), a mixed and granulated fertilizer made from Minjingu Phosphate Rock (MPR), and YaraMila Cereal (YC) fertilizer.

Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is currently the treatment of choice for most patients with severe aortic stenosis. We conducted this meta-analysis to compare the outcomes of the cusp overlap technique (COT) versus the standard three-cusp technique during self-expandable valves implantation. We systematically searched PubMed, Scopus, Embase, Cochrane, and Web of Science (WOS) from inception to March 5, 2024.

Background: The hypothesis of immune and inflammatory dysregulation has been supported in the pathogenesis of schizophrenia; this systematic review and meta-analysis aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of celecoxib, which is a COX-2 inhibitor with anti-inflammatory effects, in the management of schizophrenia.
Methods: A comprehensive search of electronic databases, including PubMed, Scopus, Cochrane, and Web of Science, was performed in February 2025. We included only randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing celecoxib alone or as an adjunct to antipsychotics to placebo.

Captivity can harm birds' behavior despite receiving care. The effects of captivity on birds' brain function have not been well studied. This study examined the effects of one-day and seven-day captivity stress on corticosterone levels, memory through novel object and place recognition, and Nrf2, cyclin D, and BMP4 gene expression as inflammatory indicators in hooded crows (Corvus cornix), common mynas (Acridotheres tristis), and cattle egrets (Bubulcus ibis).

Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) recovery in debutanizer columns presents challenges in balancing operational efficiency and process stability under varying conditions. Conventional control strategies often fail to sustain optimal recovery. This study integrates process modeling and control, using Aspen HYSYS for steady-state simulation and dynamic implementation of model predictive control (MPC).

Purpose: To calculate the incidence of colorectal cancer in Southern Egypt and to describe the epidemiological profiles of people with colorectal cancer in this region.
Introduction: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the common cancers in high income countries but historically CRC has been uncommon in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Egypt was among the first countries to report higher incidence of early-onset CRC under age 40.

Deep learning (DL) has emerged as a powerful tool for intelligent cyberattack detection, especially Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) in Software-Defined Networking (SDN), where rapid and accurate traffic classification is essential for ensuring security. This paper presents a comprehensive evaluation of six deep learning models (Multilayer Perceptron (MLP), one-dimensional Convolutional Neural Network (1D-CNN), Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU), Recurrent Neural Network (RNN), and a proposed hybrid CNN-GRU model) for binary classification of network traffic into benign or attack classes. The experiments were conducted on an SDN traffic dataset initially exhibiting class imbalance.

Reliable zero-watermarking is a distortion-free approach to copyright protection, which has been a primary focus of digital watermarking research. Traditional zero-watermarking techniques often struggle to maintain resilience against geometric and signal processing attacks while ensuring high security and imperceptibility. Many existing methods fail to extract stable and distinguishable features, making them vulnerable to image distortions such as compression, filtering, and geometric transformations.

The Mbaitoli region is particularly vulnerable to various impacts associated with flooding, soil erosion, landslides, and water erosion. In light of these challenges, this study seeks to investigate the contamination and exposure rates of the radionuclides uranium (U), thorium (Th), and potassium (K) in the terrestrial environment of Mbaitoli, Imo State, as well as the associated radiological risks. Forty soil samples were collected from the Mbaitoli region and analysed via a sodium iodide (NaI(Tl)) detector spectrometry system.

Purpose: Children with diplegic cerebral palsy (CP) have limited muscle tone, function, and sensorimotor function. Whole-body vibration (WBV) has been suggested to enhance muscle tone and function in diplegic CP. However, there were limited studies involving the effect of WBV on the tone and function of diplegic CP; we aimed to investigate the effect of WBV on muscle tone, function, and sensorimotor function in children with CP.

Human activity recognition (HAR), driven by machine learning techniques, offer the detection of diverse activities such as walking, running, and more. Considering the dynamic nature, limited energy and mobility of wireless body area networks (WBANs), HAR can play a significant role in enhancing WBANs performance. This paper genuinely bridges HAR's activity recognition capability using machine learning to develop a novel WBAN routing decisions adoptively.

Semiconductor-based heterogeneous photocatalysis generates highly reactive charge carriers under solar illumination, making it a successful approach for wastewater purification and energy production applications. Herein, a simple solvothermal approach was used to generate a promising nanocomposite photocatalyst, reduced graphene oxide/bismuth tungstate (rGO/BiWO). Various analytical tools were utilized to characterize the as-prepared catalysts.

The circadian clock is a self-sustaining oscillator with a period of approximately 24 h, enabling organisms to anticipate daily recurring events, such as sunrise and sunset. Since the circadian period is not exactly 24 h and the environmental day length varies throughout the year, the clock must be periodically reset to align an organism's physiology with the natural light/dark cycle. This synchronization, known as entrainment, is primarily regulated by nocturnal light, which can be replicated in laboratory settings using a 15 min light pulse (LP) and by assessing locomotor activity.

Statins are a cornerstone in reducing cardiovascular risk in patients with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). However, current clinical guidelines don't recommend statin use in patients undergoing maintenance dialysis due to inconclusive evidence. We conducted a meta-analysis to assess the clinical effectiveness of statins in patients with established ASCVD and undergoing dialysis.
