A series of polyurethane/graphene oxide (PU/GO) solid-solid phase change materials (SSPCMs) were synthesized by using GO as a light-absorbing filler and polyethylene glycol (PEG) as a phase change matrix. The effects of PEG content on the energy storage capacity, thermal stability and photo-thermal conversion performance of PU were investigated. The results show that the form-stability of PU/GO decreases while the phase change enthalpy and photo-thermal conversion efficiency of PU/GO increases with the increasing PEG content.

From flexible electronics and multifunctional textiles to artificial tissues, polymers penetrate nearly every aspect of modern technology. High thermal conductivity of polymers is often required in their applications, where heat dissipation is crucial to maintain product reliability and functionality. However, the intrinsic thermal conductivity of bulk polymers is largely hindered by the randomly coiled and entangled chain conformation.

The perovskite film prepared by the two-step spin coating method is widely used in photovoltaic devices due to its good film morphology and great reproducibility. However, there usually exists excessive lead iodide (PbI) in the perovskite film for this method, which is believed to passivate the grain boundaries (GBs) to increase the efficiency of the perovskite solar cells. Nevertheless, the excessive PbIat the GBs of perovskite is believed to induce the decomposition of the perovskite film and undermine the long-term stability of devices.

A rapid curing method for the preparation of colloidal photonic crystal films is presented. Firstly, a colloidal crystal array template was prepared by self-assembly of nanospheres, and then a dilute polymer solution was poured into the gap of the template. Then the composite photonic film was obtained as the polymer solution was cured.

Inorganic perovskite cesium lead iodide nanocrystals (CsPbINCs) are good candidates for optoelectronic devices because of their excellent properties of remarkable luminous performance (high luminous efficiency, narrow luminous spectral line), and high photoelectric conversion efficiency by using simple preparation method. But their inherent poor stability greatly limits its practical applications. In this paper, electrospinning is used to grow fibrous membranes with embedded cesium lead iodide perovskite nanocrystals (PNCs) formedin a one-step process.

The thermal transport of Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)-poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) nanofiber is contributed by the electronic component of thermal conduction and the phonon component of thermal conduction. The relationship between the electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity of these conducting polymers is of great interest in thermoelectric energy conversation. In this work, we characterized the axial electrical conductivities and thermal conductivities of the single PEDOT:PSS nanofibers and found that the Lorenz number is larger than Sommerfeld value at 300 K.

As a typical phase-change material (PCM) with high heat storage capacity and wide distribution, hydrated salts play broad and critical roles in solar energy utilization in recent years. However, the leakage and supercooling problems of hydrated salts have been a constraint to their further practical applications. In the current work, the super-hydrophilic reduced graphene oxide (RGO) aerogels modified by konjac glucomannan (KGM) as supporting structural materials are prepared by the hydrothermal reaction-freeze-drying, which can effectively absorb and convert visible sunlight energy into thermal energy.

Traditional detection methods to detect heavy metal ions are time-consuming, complicated, and expensive. Here, we developed a simple electroless plating method to prepare three-dimensional gold nanowire (Au NW) films with high specific surface area. In an aqueous plating bath, tetrachloroauric acid, 4-dimethylaminopyridine and formaldehyde are used as precursor, ligand, and reducing agent, respectively.

As a noninvasive eye disease detection and drug delivery device, contact lenses can improve eye bioavailability and enable continuous drug delivery. In order to monitor the release of drugs in real time, molecularly imprinted contact lenses (MICLs) based on photonic crystals (PCs) were prepared for the treatment of diabetes-related diseases. The specific adsorption of molecularly imprinted polymers on dexamethasone sodium phosphate (DSP) increased the drug loading and optimized the drug release behavior.

As the miniaturization of electronic appliances and microprocessors progresses, low-permittivity interlayer materials are becoming increasingly important for their suppression of electronic crosstalk, signal propagation delay and loss, and so forth. Herein, a kind of copolyimide (CPI) film with a "fluorene" rigid conjugated structure was prepared successfully. By introducing 9,9-Bis(3-fluoro-4-aminophenyl) fluorene as the rigid conjugated structure monomer, a series of CPI films with different molecular weights were fabricated by in situ polymerization, which not only achieved the reduction of permittivity but also maintained excellent thermodynamic stability.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and their derivatives are promising materials for energy conversion and storage. This study demonstrates a solvent-free method to fabricate a CoO/carbon composite array derived from ZIF-67 for asymmetric supercapacitors. Tree-like Co metal arrays are electrodeposited on a surface and then directly converted into composite ZIF-67/Co-based MOF arrays via a chemical vapor deposition method (MOF-CVD).
