Introduction: The chemical composition and microbial contaminants of commercially bottled water are managed according to public health regulations, but there are gaps in these criteria for fungal agents. For this reason, commercial bottled water brands filled in 19-L polycarbonate bottles from various water sources in western Anatolia and sold in Izmir and neighboring provinces were randomly selected and analyzed.
Materials And Methods: Fungal screening was carried out in water samples using the membrane filtration technique.

Objective: N-acetylcysteine (NAC), an aminothiol compound, eliminates free radicals and enhances glutathione (GSH) synthesis, thereby strengthening intracellular antioxidant defenses. Although its protective effects against ovarian injury have been reported, its efficacy in doxorubicin (DOX)-induced ovarian failure has not been demonstrated. This study aimed to investigate whether NAC exerts a protective role against DOX-induced ovarian toxicity in female rats.

Introduction: Screening to identify traumatic births and childbirth-related post-traumatic stress disorder (CB-PTSD) is critical for reducing the global burden of maternal mental health challenges. Despite this, no brief, validated tools exist for international use. This study therefore developed and validated a short version of the City Birth Trauma Scale (City BiTS) to provide a brief, globally relevant screening tool.

Objective: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by cognitive decline and the accumulation of amyloid-beta (Aβ) peptides. The neuroprotective protein sestrin-2 (SESN2) has been implicated in the cellular response to oxidative stress and autophagy, processes that are disrupted in AD. This study explores the effects of phosphodiesterase inhibitors (PDEIs) roflumilast (RF), rolipram (ROL), and tadalafil (TAD) on SESN2 expression and autophagy in Aβ25-35-treated hippocampal neuron (HT-22) cell cultures.

Background: This study aims to investigate the effects of vitamin B12 on morphine-induced conditioned place preference (CPP), a model commonly used to assess the rewarding effects of drugs. Morphine is a potent analgesic widely used for moderate to severe pain, but it also poses a significant risk of addiction. Previous studies suggest that cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) may enhance the analgesic effects of morphine and reduce tolerance, but its impact on morphine addiction remains unclear.

Objective: Findings in the literature indicate that women often have incorrect or incomplete knowledge about the concepts of microbiota, microbiome, probiotics, prebiotics, and their relationship with women's health, pregnancy, childbirth methods, and breast milk. In this regard, designing educational programs that contribute to preventing reproductive system infections, achieving positive fertility outcomes, and supporting the health processes of women and newborns through the microbiota of the female body can contribute to the current situation. In line with this aim, in this study, the development and evaluation of a microbiota education program for women were conducted.

Purpose: To investigate the changes in pelvic measurements and lumbar lordosis with age in children and adolescents and to find a relationship between pelvic parameters and lumbar lordosis to estimate appropriate lordosis in the adolescent idiopathic scoliosis surgery.
Methods: A retrospective analysis of 382 abdominal-pelvic CT scans was conducted, with pelvic incidence, sacral slope, pelvic tilt, supine lumbar lordosis, and a derived parameter L1 slope measurements performed. Participants were divided into three age groups: 3-10, 11-15, and 16-18 years.

This study was carried out to determine the influence of conventional oven drying (CDG), spray drying (SDG), and freeze drying (FDG) on the physicochemical, powder, functional, and gelling properties of turkey skin gelatin. SDG (12%) and FDG (13%) have lower yields than CDG (15%). SDG and FDG also had lower bulk density but higher Hausner ratio and Carr index values compared to CDG.
