Groundwater quality in Hili, a semi-arid border region at Indo-Bangladesh border, was investigated in the post-monsoon season of 2021, succeeded by assessment of probabilistic health risk arising from fluoride (F) and iron (Fe) intake, with the hypothesis that groundwater quality of the region was not satisfactory for human consumption and health, considering earlier reports on high groundwater F and Fe in few of the neighboring districts. All water samples were found to be potable in terms of Ca, Mg, Cl, SO and NO , but F and Fe exceeded prescribed safe limits for drinking water in about 48% and 7% samples. Almost all water samples were found to be good for irrigation in terms of sodium adsorption ratio (SAR), soluble sodium percentage (SSP), Kelly's index (KI), %Na and magnesium ratio (MR).

In this study, the relationships between meteorological parameters (relative humidity, wind speed, temperature, planetary boundary layer, and rainfall) and air pollutants (particulate matter and gaseous pollutants) have been evaluated during a 3-year period from 2019 to 2021. Diffusion and dispersion of air contaminants were significantly influenced by meteorology over the capital city. The results of correlation matrix and principal component analysis (PCA) suggest a season's specific influence of meteorological parameters on atmospheric pollutants' concentration.

Chlorpyrifos (CP) is an extensively used organophosphate (OP) pesticide that inhibits the biogeochemical cycle with subsequent loss of soil fertility. In this view, indigenous soil bacteria with significant CP degradation capacity were identified as Pseudomonas aeruginosa RNC3 and Stenotrophomonas maltophilia RNC7 through 16 S rRNA. The optimum values of independent variables for CP degradation were found to be 30 ℃, pH 7, 100 mgL of CP, and 1 OD cell culture RNC3 and RNC7 showed 82.

Unlabelled: Recovery and recycling of municipal solid waste biodegradable fraction (50-55%) are essential for attaining sustainability and a circular economy. Among organic waste treatment methods, composting is used to recycle organic fractions of waste. However, only 10-12% of municipal solid waste is utilized for composting treatment due to a lack of segregation practices and process challenges, including long process periods, odorous and greenhouse gas emissions, nitrogen loss, and low compost quality, which hinders large-scale practice.

Oily sludge generated by the petroleum industry is not only an environmental hazard, but since it contains crude oil too, it is a valuable resource as well. This study demonstrates a methodology for the valorization of the oily sludge that allows the recovery of oil fractions by the action of microbes producing surface-active metabolites. Epidemiologic investigations have previously been published in more than 200 papers, and several studies have examined the impacts of particle air pollution on health. The main conclusions now being made about the epidemiological evidence of particle pollution-induced health impacts are discussed in this article. Although there is no universal agreement, most reviewers conclude that particulate air pollution, particularly excellent combustion-cause contamination prevalent in many municipal and manufacturing environments, is a significant risk for cardiopulmonary sickness and mortality.
