Meningioma, the most prevalent brain tumor, poses significant challenges due to its unclear transition from low-grade to aggressive forms, with limited knowledge about grade-specific markers. We have utilized vibrational spectroscopic techniques such as ATR-FTIR and Raman spectroscopy, alongside LC-MS/MS-based mass spectrometry to understand the systemic cues and evaluate them for clinical practice. The acquired Raman and ATR-FTIR spectra of 46 meningioma patients (27 low-grade and 19 high-grade) and 8 healthy individuals revealed 98.

Canine cancers are becoming increasingly significant due to their natural occurrence, similar to the spontaneous cancers in humans as well as their histological and biological similarities to human cancers. Several oral cancer types have been witnessed in dogs, based on the cell type from which the tumour originates. The type of oral tumour dictates severity of the disease, treatment options and prognoses.

F-FDG PET radiomics is emerging as a promising tool to identify imaging biomarkers for quantifying intratumor heterogeneity in lung cancer. However, the robustness of PET radiomic features (RFs) is influenced by factors such as image reconstruction algorithms, tumor segmentation, and discretization. Although the impact of these factors on RFs has been explored, the specific influence of the advanced block sequential regularized expectation maximization (BSREM) reconstruction algorithm remains unclear.

Purpose: In prostate cancer patients, high radiation doses to the urethra have been associated with an increased risk of severe genitourinary toxicity following dose-escalated radiotherapy. Urethra-sparing techniques have emerged as a promising approach to reduce urinary toxicity. This international survey aims to evaluate current global practices in urethra-sparing and explore future directions for the implementation of this technique in external beam radiotherapy (EBRT) for prostate cancer.

Background: In patients with high-risk (HR) prostate cancer (PCa) treated with radiotherapy and androgen deprivation therapy (ADT), intensification with androgen receptor pathway inhibitor (ARPI) improves overall survival (OS), at the cost of significant side-effects. We hypothesized that "augmented RT" schedules (defined as either dose-escalation on the prostate gland over 78 Gy and/or addition of whole pelvic radiotherapy (WPRT)), combined with long-term ADT can reach excellent prostate cancer specific survival (PCSS) in this population with little detrimental impact on quality of life.
Methods: We searched Pubmed database until February 8, 2024.

The recent outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, has posed serious threats to global health systems. Although several directions have been put by the WHO for effective treatment, use of antibiotics, particularly ciprofloxacin, in suspected and acquired Covid-19 patients has raised an even more serious concern of antibiotic resistance. Ciprofloxacin has been reported to inhibit entry of SARS-CoV-2 into the host cells via interacting with the spike (S) protein.

The epidermis is a stratified epithelium that functions as the first line of defense against pathogenic invasion and acts as a barrier preventing water loss. In this study, we aimed to decipher the role of 14-3-3ε in the development of the epidermis. We report that loss of 14-3-3ε in the epidermis of juvenile and adult mice reduces cell division in the basal layer and increases the percentage of cells with multiple centrosomes, leading to a reduction in the thickness of the basal and stratified layers.
