An increasing number of people are single, meaning that they do not have an intimate partner. Existing research has focused on identifying the difficulties that people face in attracting mates. In the present paper, we propose that another factor contributing to singlehood is experiencing difficulties in maintaining intimate relationships. By analyzing data collected from 1099 Greek-speaking participants, we found that individuals who experienced greater difficulties maintaining intimate relationships were more likely to be either between-relationships single or voluntarily single rather than in an intimate relationship. For women specifically, higher scores in this dimension were also associated with a greater probability of being in an intimate relationship than being involuntarily single. Additionally, we found that the association between difficulties in maintaining an intimate relationship and relationship status was linear for men-the relationship between the two variables can be pictured as straight line-but curvilinear-the relationship can be pictured as an inverted U-shaped curve-for women.

The present cross-sectional study examined the chain mediating roles of spousal support and dyadic adjustment in the relationship between social media addiction and sexual functioning among 211 married women of reproductive age in Qazvin, Iran. Grounded in the Interpersonal Process Model of Intimacy, the study posited that excessive social media use displaces face-to-face interactions, thereby eroding emotional support and relational harmony, which are critical for sexual well-being. Participants completed validated measures assessing social media addiction, spousal support, dyadic adjustment, and sexual functioning through an online survey.

Chapman's Five Love Languages have been embraced by the public and incorporated into therapeutic practice, offering a simple framework for expressing and receiving love. However, it is unclear whether the proposed five love languages fully capture the multitude of ways that individuals express love. In three studies with individuals in long-term relationships residing in the United States (N = 696, 500, 499), we used a bottom-up approach to revise a previously developed measure of love languages using exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses.
