Background: commonly colonizes the genitourinary tract and primarily affects immunocompromised individuals. It is mostly confined to localized infections, with bloodstream dissemination being rare. Because of its fastidious nutritional requirements, the organism is seldom recovered by routine blood culture, and the absence of a cell wall renders it intrinsically resistant to many first-line antimicrobials. Consequently, the diagnosis and treatment of bloodstream infections remain challenging.
Case Description: A 72-year-old man developed persistent fever and marked systemic inflammation after lumbar spine surgery. Despite empirical broad-spectrum antibiotics, he progressed to severe incisional infection, pulmonary infection, and effusions in multiple serous cavities-including the left interlobar fissure, pleural space, and pericardium. Routine blood and urine cultures remained negative until two weeks after surgery, when was first isolated from incisional exudate and definitively identified by MALDI-TOF MS. The patient ultimately recovered after surgical debridement and combination therapy with doxycycline plus moxifloxacin. During this period, we used Mycoplasma-specific liquid media combined with Columbia blood agar and subsequently recovered from the patient's sputum, urethral swabs, and initially culture-negative blood samples. MALDI-TOF MS cluster analysis confirmed that all isolates belonged to a single clonal group responsible for disseminated infection.
Conclusion: Immunocompromised patients with postoperative indwelling catheters constitute a high-risk population for hematogenous dissemination of . In patients with persistent fever and negative routine cultures, infection should be actively suspected. Timely targeted mycoplasma culture and MALDI-TOF MS confirmation are essential.

Background: Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) affect up to 10% of pregnancies and can have adverse short and long-term implications for women and their babies. eHealth interventions include any health service or treatment delivered using the internet and related technology that aims to facilitate, capture, or exchange knowledge. eHealth interventions are increasingly used across many health care settings with improved outcomes.

Objective: Low-value laboratories lead to healthcare inefficiencies, unnecessary interventions, and environmental waste. Maternal complete blood count (CBC) testing is routine after cesarean birth, but does not change clinical management in most cases. We aimed to decrease routine postpartum CBC testing at a tertiary-care hospital and replace it with targeted ordering for patients at increased risk of severe anemia.

Background: The utility of routine environmental sampling to monitor the airborne fungal load (AFL) in healthcare settings is uncertain.
Methods: AFL was measured by monthly cultures at a tertiary-care pediatric hospital from November 2018 through October 2023 on eleven units caring for patients at risk for invasive mold infection (IMI). Surveillance for healthcare-associated IMI was conducted for all patients in the healthcare system using locally developed definitions for possible, probable, and definite hospital-onset infections.

Background: Sepsis is characterized by profound immune and metabolic perturbations, with glycolysis serving as a pivotal modulator of immune responses. However, the molecular mechanisms linking glycolytic reprogramming to immune dysfunction remain poorly defined.
Methods: Transcriptomic profiles of sepsis were obtained from the Gene Expression Omnibus.

Objective: This study aims to investigate the association between the dynamics of routine metabolic markers and endometriosis severity.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on patients diagnosed with endometriosis at Zhongshan Hospital, Xiamen, affiliated with Fudan University. The collected data encompassed demographic details and biochemical indicators related to lipid, hepatobiliary, renal metabolism, and electrolyte balance.
