This paper presents the design, fabrication, and experimental evaluation of a capacitive micromachined ultrasonic transducer (CMUT) linear array for non-contact thickness measurement of marine engineering structures. A 16-element CMUT array was fabricated using a silicon-silicon wafer bonding process, and encapsulated in polyurethane to ensure acoustic impedance matching and environmental protection in underwater conditions. The acoustic performance of the encapsulated CMUT was characterized using standard piezoelectric transducers as reference. The array achieved a transmitting sensitivity of 146.82 dB and a receiving sensitivity of -229.55 dB at 1 MHz. A complete thickness detection system was developed by integrating the CMUT array with a custom transceiver circuit and implementing a time-of-flight (ToF) measurement algorithm. To evaluate environmental robustness, systematic experiments were conducted under varying water temperatures and salinity levels. The results demonstrate that the absolute thickness measurement error remains within ±0.1 mm under all tested conditions, satisfying the accuracy requirements for marine structural health monitoring. The results validate the feasibility of CMUT-based systems for precise and stable thickness measurement in underwater environments, and support their application in non-destructive evaluation of marine infrastructure.

Background And Objectives: While reductions in optical coherence tomography (OCT) pRNFL and ganglion cell-inner plexiform layer thicknesses have been shown to be associated with brain atrophy in adult-onset MS (AOMS) cohorts, the relationship between OCT and brain MRI measures is less established in pediatric-onset MS (POMS). Our aim was to examine the associations of OCT measures with volumetric MRI in a cohort of patients with POMS to determine whether OCT measures reflect CNS neurodegeneration in this patient population, as is seen in AOMS cohorts.
Methods: This was a cross-sectional study with retrospective ascertainment of patients with POMS evaluated at a single center with expertise in POMS and neuro-ophthalmology.

Objective: Our study aimed to compare premenopausal and postmenopausal women in terms of choroidal thickness and choroidal vascularity index.
Methods: This cross-sectional study included 96 eyes of 96 participants, comprising 48 premenopausal and 48 postmenopausal women. Enhanced depth image optical coherence tomography (EDI-OCT) was used to visualize the choroid.

The study of the self-assembly of surfactants in aqueous solutions, though a traditional field, remains fascinating and full of novelty. In this article, the anionic perfluorodecanoic acid surfactant (PFA) is separately complexed with three hydroxyalkylamines (monoethanolamine (MEA), diethylamine (DEA), and triethanolamine (TEA)) in aqueous solutions. The transformation of aggregate morphologies from spherical unilamellar to nanotubes and then to spherical bilamellar is observed at room temperature, which is confirmed by cryo-transmission electron microscopy (cryo-TEM).

This study aimed to investigate the age-related alterations in mesial roots of mandibular first molar in terms of root canal curvature values, dentin thickness, interorifice distance, deviation from apical foramen, and location of apical foramen using a three-dimensional curvature measurement method and micro-computed tomography (micro-CT). Forty-five mesial roots of mandibular first molars from three age groups (Group 1: ≤ 30 years, Group 2: 31-59 years, Group 3: ≥ 60 years) were scanned using micro-CT. The central axis of each mesiobuccal and mesiolingual canal was analyzed using cubic B-spline curves to calculate canal curvature.

To evaluated the efficacy of photodynamic therapy (PDT) in improving laryngeal mucosal wound scar healing in vivo and investigated its underlying mechanisms. Laryngeal mucosal wounds were induced in Sprague-Dawley rats. Two weeks post-injury, PDT was administered via intraperitoneal injection of 100 mg/kg 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA) and 635-nm red laser irradiation at varying energy doses (15, 30, and 45 J/cm²).
