Toxoplasma gondii is a common and opportunistic protozoan in vertebrates. Most cases of infection are asymptomatic, but in individuals with an immune system deficiency, it can cause severe complications. The parasite has the ability to form cysts in the host's heart, brain, and other tissues. Heart tissue damage during toxoplasmosis infection is associated with many complications, such as myocarditis, pericarditis, arrhythmia and heart failure. The parasite can survive and create a chronic form of infection by changing the expression of genes effective in the immune system. Therefore, the present study aims to investigate expression dynamics of candidate genes in the heart tissue of mice infected with the chronic T. gondii strain of Tehran and the pathways involved. After causing toxoplasmosis infection in mice and confirming the infection by MAT, RNA was extracted from the heart tissue of mice and converted into cDNA. Then, real-time PCR was performed to check the expression changes based on the designed primers of the target genes, and pathway analysis was performed. The results of real-time PCR analysis showed that all candidate genes have a higher expression in infected heart tissue compared to non-infected heart tissue. In addition, gene ontology and pathway analysis revealed that the cytosolic DNA-sensing pathway and autoimmune thyroid illness had the most gene participation.

While extensive research has been conducted on the human postmortem interval (PMI), there is a notable gap in understanding the postmortem preservation of germplasm in endangered species. This study aimed to investigate the dynamics of apoptosis in various tissues of the Yangtze sturgeon at different postmortem time points, and to provide a reference for identifying the optimal time window for germplasm preservation in rare and endangered fish in the wild.

Objectives: To clarify the role of hippocampal glutamate system in regulating HPA axis in mediating the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) at the heart meridian for improving myocardial injury in rats with acute myocardial ischemia (AMI).
Methods: Male SD rats were randomized into sham-operated group, AMI group, EA group, and L-glutamic acid+EA group (=9). Rat models of AMI were established by left descending coronary artery ligation, and EA was applied at the "Shenmen-Tongli" segment; the rats in L-glutamic acid+EA group were subjected to microinjection of L-glutamic acid into the bilateral hippocampus prior to AMI modeling and EA treatment.

Background: Atherosclerosis (AS) is a leading risk factor for cardiovascular diseases globally, characterised by the accumulation of lipids and cholesterol in arterial walls, causing vascular narrowing and sclerosis along with chronic inflammation; this leads to increased risk of heart disease and stroke, significantly impacting patients' health. Danxia Tiaoban Decoction (DXTB), a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula, has demonstrated positive clinical effects in treating AS; however, its mechanisms of action remain unclear.
Objective: To explore the potential mechanisms of action of DXTB in treating AS through multi-omics integration and experimental validation.
