Department of Population Health Sciences, University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, San Antonio, Texas, USA.
Introduction: We compared and measured alignment between the Health Level Seven (HL7) Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) standard used by electronic health records (EHRs), the Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (CDISC) standards used by industry, and the Uniform Data Set (UDS) used by the Alzheimer's Disease Research Centers (ADRCs).
Methods: The ADRC UDS, consisting of 5959 data elements across eleven packets, was mapped to FHIR and CDISC standards by two independent mappers, with discrepancies adjudicated by experts.
Results: Forty-five percent of the 5959 UDS data elements mapped to the FHIR standard, indicating possible electronic obtainment from EHRs.

Introduction/aims: There is a lack of up-to-date information on the burden of motor neuron diseases (MNDs) in the United States (US). This study aimed to estimate trends in the prevalence, incidence, mortality, and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) for MNDs in the US from 1990 to 2021.
Methods: We performed a secondary analysis of MNDs in the US using estimates of prevalence, incidence, and mortality obtained from analyses of the Global Burden of Disease 2021 dataset.

Background: Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral infection with growing global impact, including international travellers travelling to and from endemic regions. This systematic literature review aimed to assess the clinical and economic burden of dengue in travellers from non-endemic countries.
Methods: This systematic review was conducted following the PRISMA guidelines to assess the incidence, prevalence, mortality, healthcare resource use, and costs of dengue fever in travellers between non-endemic and endemic regions.

Department of Sport, Exercise and Nutrition, Atlantic Technological University, Galway, Ireland.
Background: Nutrition underpins athletic performance, enhancing training, reducing injury risk, and accelerating recovery. In the event of an injury, performance dietitians (PDs) and nutritionists' (PNs) play a vital role by tailoring nutritional strategies to support tissue repair, optimize athlete's recoveries, and return to play.
Objectives: This study explored nutritional strategies recommended and employed by Irish PDs and PNs to assess, manage, and support athletes during the initial stages of sports-related injuries.

Exeter Hip Unit, Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre, Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Barrack Road, Exeter, UK.
Background: Revision hip arthroplasty is associated with significant blood loss and a subsequent need for blood transfusion. Intraoperative cell salvage (ICS) is a method of recovering a patient's blood for autologous transfusion. This potentially reduces the need for allogenic blood transfusion (ABT), thus avoiding associated risk and expense.
