Geriatric patients present characteristics specific to this stage of life, that require targeted care. Health information technologies have the potential to improve the quality of healthcare. The objective of this study is to describe the design of a mobile and web application for the comprehensive care of older adults. We highlight the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration between health informaticians and a clinical care team throughout the project.

Juvenile fibroadenoma typically is seen in the adolescent patient and has distinctive clinical and histopathological features that are related to the early onset of the benign tumor. Only rarely can juvenile fibroadenoma occur as a prepubertal lesion or may be detected earlier in childhood, raising questions about differential diagnosis and management of the lesion. We present a case of very early first manifestation of juvenile fibroadenoma in a 2-year-old patient.

Although horse riding is hazardous and injuries are common, young riders regularly engage in horse-related activities. To our knowledge, there have been no syntheses on youth horse-related injuries published during the past decade that employ a multi- and interdisciplinary research agenda (M-IDR) and that incorporate both quantitative and qualitative methods. Therefore, this scoping review aimed to (1) review studies on horse-related injuries among children and adolescents and (2) identify methodological and paradigmatic trends according to M-IDR.

Despite the widespread utility of transition metal-catalyzed cross-couplings in organic synthesis, the coupling of unactivated alkyl electrophiles remains challenging due to sluggish oxidative addition and competing side reactions. Here, we describe a general and practical copper-catalyzed radical deoxyalkynylation of α-unfunctionalized alcohols through a synergistic combination of Barton-McCombie deoxygenation and copper-catalyzed radical cross-coupling. Key to the success of this method lies in not only the development of rigid anionic multiple N,N,N-ligand to exert remarkable selectivity of highly reactive unactivated alkyl radicals, but also the selection of one suitable oxidant to suppress Glaser homocoupling and other side products.

Introduction: Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) encompasses a spectrum of conditions from simple steatosis to advanced fibrosis that may represent the cradle for hepatocellular carcinoma. Thus, an accurate assessment of fibrosis is critical for patient management. Noninvasive tools, including serum biomarkers and imaging techniques, have emerged as practical alternatives to liver biopsy, which presents limitations for invasiveness, cost, and sampling variability.

Cultured meat is an emerging field in future food production, employing interdisciplinary strategies that integrate the food industry, tissue engineering, and biotechnology to meet global food needs. Cultivating meat from stem cells is an increasingly recognized solution to address concerns associated with animal husbandry in terms of environment, health, and ethics. Despite significant advances, substantial technical challenges persist.
