Objective: This study aimed to explore participant reflections after receipt of prenatal genome sequencing (GS) results in the absence of fetal anomalies.
Methods: Participants invited to complete a semi-structured interview consented to future research, were English speaking, and were between 30 days and 1 year since the conclusion of their sequenced pregnancy. A total of 18 interviews were conducted with 21 participants (3 couples interviewed concurrently) representing 15 unique pregnancies (81% term deliveries, 14% terminated pregnancies, and 5% preterm delivery).

The lithium‑oxygen battery (LOB) has emerged as an appropriate candidate for next-generation power supply system, owing to the ultrahigh theoretical energy density (3480 Wh kg) and relatively low cost. However, some intrinsic challenges, including high redox overpotentials, limited rate capability, and poor cyclic life, continue to hinder the practical deployment of lithium‑ oxygen batteries. The fundamental limitations originate from sluggish oxygen reduction/evolution reaction (ORR/OER) kinetics and parasitic side reactions, which can be effectively mitigated by employing efficient cathode electrocatalysts.

Gastrointestinal defects and immunodeficiency syndrome (GIDID) is a rare and complex disorder characterized by concurrent dysfunction of the digestive and immune systems. Typically manifesting in infancy or early childhood, GIDID carries a severe prognosis with high early mortality rates. The syndrome has been specifically linked to mutations in the TTC7A gene located on chromosome 2p21.

Type 2 diabetes (T2D), along with other co-morbidities (hypertension, hyperlipidemia, etc.), causes vascular complications and atherosclerosis, leading to heart or kidney damage. The timely detection of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and chronic kidney disease (CKD) risk helps in targeted treatment, thereby reducing hospitalization/death in people with T2D.

Aims: Older men with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) face a heightened risk of sarcopenia. This study aimed to compare the longitudinal effects of semaglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist and sitagliptin as the control group on sarcopenia indicators and biomarkers of neuromuscular junction and neuronal health in patients with T2DM over 1 year.
Methods: A cohort of 141 older men with T2DM (semaglutide, n = 68; sitagliptin group, n = 73) underwent assessments at baseline, 6 months and 1 year.
