Introduction Simulation-based training has been a vital part of medical education since Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) was introduced, and new guidelines since 2023 have expanded to include simulation as a mandatory methodology of teaching. This method enables learners to build and develop both technical and non-technical abilities in a safe and controlled setting, enhancing their preparedness for real-life medical scenarios. Simulation-based training improves skill acquisition and retention and enhances learners' confidence, reduces anxiety, reinforces learning, corrects errors, and promotes reflective practice, in contrast with the traditional method of teaching.

Objective: Minimal Invasive Dialysis Access (MIDA) for renal dialysis encompasses percutaneous arteriovenous fistula (pAVF) creation and the modified percutaneous Seldinger peritoneal dialysis catheter insertions (pPD). This review examines the impact of MIDA on technical success, maturation rates, patency, clinical benefits, complications, and cost.

Methods: A review was made of the literature on MIDA including pAVF creation and pPD insertion regarding technical success rates, maturation rates, patency, clinical benefits, complications, and cost.

State Key Laboratory of Common Mechanisms Research for Major Diseases, Suzhou Institute of Systems Medicine, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences & Peking Union Medical College, Suzhou 215123, China.

Adenine base editors (ABEs) enable efficient A-to-G base conversions in genomic DNA, serving as powerful tools for basic research and clinical disease treatment. TadA-8e with high processive and compatibility makes ABE8e to be the most widely used adenine base editor and has also facilitated the creation of more elegant base editors based on TadA-8e fusion, such as AYBE and eA&C-BEmax. However, ABE8e has more off-target events including DNA off-target and RNA off-target, which raises safety concerns for precision gene editing.

Anastrepha obliqua, a neotropical pest widely distributed in the Americas, attacks mango and other tropical fruits. In Mexico, it is controlled through integrated pest management, using the Sterile Insect Technique (SIT) as a main component. The applicability of SIT is significantly improved with the use of genetic sexing strains (GSS) that allow the possibility to release exclusively sterile males, the primary component of the technique.

Achieving precise control of materials synthesis is a cornerstone of modern manufacturing, driving efficiency, functionality, and device innovation. This review examines the roles of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and neutron scattering (NS) in advancing our understanding of these processes. TEM offers atomic-scale insights into nucleation, growth, and phase transitions, while NS provides an analysis of reaction pathways, phase evolution, and structural transformations over broader length scales.
