Non-volatile metabolite profiles and taste quality of Pu-erh raw tea on different storage years by metabolomics and H qNMR.

Food Res Int

November 2025

Pu-erh raw tea (PRT), a post-fermented tea, is prized for its complex flavor profile and health-promoting properties. While extended storage enhances its sensory attributes, the decade-scale metabolic dynamics underpinning flavor evolution remain unexplored. This study comprehensively characterized non-volatile metabolomic profiles and flavor changes in PRT across a 10-year storage period (2012-2023).

Emphysema progression risk in COPD using a localized foundational model of density evolution.

NPJ Digit Med

August 2025

Applied Chest Imaging Laboratory, Department of Radiology and Medicine, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, 399 Revolution Drive, Somerville, 02145, MA, USA.

Emphysema progression in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) presents a notable challenge due to its significant variability among individuals and the current lack of reliable prognostic markers. Given the limited therapeutic options available for emphysema, there is a critical need for early detection and intervention strategies. Identifying individuals at risk of rapid progression is essential to effectively halt or slow the disease's advancement.

High-risk prostate cancer (PC) accounts for 50-75% of 10-year relapse after primary treatment. Routine clinicopathological parameters for PC patient stratification have proven insufficient to inform clinical decisions in this setting. Tumor genomic profiling allowed overcoming the limits of diagnostic accuracy in the field of PC, integrated with radiomic features, automated platforms, evaluation of patient-related factors (age, performance status, comorbidity) and tumor-related factors (risk class, volume, T stage).

Background And Objectives: Since the introduction of the Leksell Gamma Knife to North America in 1987, stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) has increasingly been used for patients with intracranial meningiomas. We evaluated the evolving application and outcomes of meningioma patients managed with both primary and adjuvant SRS during a 35-year interval.

Methods: The authors reviewed the outcomes of meningioma patients (1229 female, 69.

Astrocytomas and oligodendrogliomas are slow-growing and treatment-sensitive IDH-mutant gliomas diagnosed at ages 30-50. Local tumor regrowth and treatment resistance is inevitable resulting in 3-10 year astrocytoma and up to >20 years oligodendroglioma survival. We sought to identify genetic changes associated with tumor evolution in response to therapy through multi-timepoint whole-genome/whole-exome sequencing of 206 IDH-mutant glioma patient samples collected through the Glioma Longitudinal Analysis (GLASS) Consortium.
