Background: Cutaneous melanoma is an aggressive skin cancer with high metastatic potential. Accurate staging is critical to guide therapeutic strategies and improve prognosis. Whole-body magnetic resonance imaging (WB-MRI), particularly when combined with diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI), has emerged as promising tool for comprehensive, radiation-free assessment of metastatic spread.

A melanoma is a malignant neoplasm that originates from melanocytes. Melanocytes are found in various body sites-they are most commonly found in the skin (including acral sites and nail units), ocular structures, and mucosal membranes. This narrative review aims to comprehensively summarize the current information available regarding several types of melanomas and to analyze the existing evidence.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAtopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic, relapsing inflammatory skin disorder characterized by immune dysregulation and microbiota imbalances. It affects millions worldwide, leading to significant morbidity and reduced quality of life. The disease is marked by intense pruritus, xerosis, and eczematous lesions, often accompanied by psychological distress and sleep disturbances.

DA is a very challenging entity to diagnose, as it can mimic many other disorders and is usually recognized only after exclusion of all other diseases. Herein, we report three cases of a novel cutaneous condition that could fall into the spectrum of DA.

Introduction: Speculatively, digital image post-processing (DIPP) enhances diagnostic accuracy in dermoscopy.
Objective: We aimed to investigate the advantages and limitations of DIPP, as well as its perceived reliability and safety.
Methods: In this study we investigated the perception and use of DIPP among members of the International Dermoscopy Society through a web-based survey with 17 questions focusing on: (i) demographics (sex, age, nationality, specialty, professional experience in dermoscopy), (ii) application of digital dermoscopy, (iii) imaging devices, (iv) DIPP software usage, (v) area of DIPP application (e.

Introduction: Tirbanibulin, a topical treatment for actinic keratosis (AK) with a novel antiproliferative mechanism of action, has demonstrated efficacy and a favorable tolerability profile in clinical trials and real-life studies. An insight into best-practice use of tirbanibulin in different clinical presentations of AK would be useful.
Objectives: The aim of this article was to deliver advice, via expert consensus, on the optimal use of tirbanibulin in the real-life management of AK.
Psoriasiform dermatitis refers to a spectrum of inflammatory skin disorders that resemble psoriasis both clinically and histologically. These conditions can occur idiopathically or as paradoxical reactions to biologic or targeted therapies, particularly in patients with atopic or autoimmune backgrounds. Histologic features often include acanthosis, parakeratosis, and lymphocytic infiltrates, but without the full molecular signature of classical psoriasis.

Dear Editor, We present a rare but clinically significant case of acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP) following the administration of dupilumab in a patient with refractory atopic dermatitis (AD). While dupilumab is widely regarded as a safe and effective biologic agent for moderate-to-severe AD across age groups - including adolescents, adults, and increasingly children - emerging reports underscore the need to remain vigilant for uncommon, severe cutaneous reactions. Kaposiform hemangioendothelioma (KHE) is a rare vascular tumor of infancy, characterized by an infiltrative, firm, and ill-defined plaque that may be associated with Kasabach-Merritt phenomenon. While the diagnosis is primarily clinical and histopathological, dermoscopy may provide valuable insights into its microstructural features. We present the case of a newborn with congenital KHE involving the lumbar and right gluteal region, focusing on its dermoscopic characteristics.

Although some studies have demonstrated a relationship between specific dermoscopic and pathologic melanoma features, there is no solid evidence allowing reliable conclusions. This study will evaluate the evidence regarding this association.

Background: The differential diagnosis of early nail unit melanoma can be challenging.
Objective: This retrospective cross-sectional study aimed to characterize the clinical and dermoscopic changes in a series of cases of longitudinal melanonychia that underwent clinical and dermoscopic sequential digital monitoring.
Methods: All patients were adults presenting with a single acquired pigmented nail band and were monitored over time.
Scabies, a contagious parasitic skin disease caused by Sarcoptes scabiei, has shown a marked resurgence in several European regions following the COVID-19 pandemic. In Campania, Italy, reported cases increased from 42 in 2020 to 748 in 2024, according to the regional surveillance system (Sistema Premal-UOD). However, the true burden of disease is likely underestimated due to widespread underreporting, delayed diagnosis, and a hidden reservoir of undetected or self-treated cases.

Melanoma, the most aggressive form of skin cancer, still represents a significant and growing public health concern. Ultraviolet radiation (UVR) is considered the primary driver of melanoma, although genetic predisposition also plays a critical role. This review explores the intricate molecular mechanisms by which UVR-induced photodamage contributes to melanoma development.

Diagnosing EPDS is complex, often mimicking other dermatological conditions like actinic keratosis (AK), basal cell carcinoma (BCC), or squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). Therapeutic challenges arise from EPDS's chronic, relapsing nature, which requires long-term management.

Objective: We sought to build consensus on management of LSR associated with 4% 5-FU using the Delphi methodology.
Methods: Twenty-eight expert dermatologists participated in a 3-round Delphi process.
Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the head presents a significant challenge in achieving complete surgical excision while preserving function and aesthetics. Neoadjuvant intralesional methotrexate (MTX) has emerged as a potential strategy to reduce tumour burden preoperatively, facilitating more conservative surgical excisions. The results demonstrated significant lesion shrinkage, with a mean tumour size reduction of 68%, enabling less invasive surgical interventions.

Dermatological diseases such as acne, hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), and psoriasis are driven by chronic inflammation and oxidative stress. Emerging evidence highlights the role of nutrition in modulating these conditions, particularly through dietary patterns rich in antioxidants, polyphenols, and unsaturated fatty acids. RECENT FINDINGS: The Mediterranean diet (MedDiet) has demonstrated potential benefits due to its anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects, while very low-energy ketogenic therapy (VLEKT) has shown promise in rapidly improving disease severity.
