Aim: This study aims to investigate the role of anterior segment optical coherence tomography angiography (AS-OCTA) in determining the prognosis of ocular chemical injuries by correlating angiographic features with early complications and visual outcomes.
Method: Forty-six eyes of 36 patients with acute chemical injuries at Farabi Eye Hospital were studied prospectively. Participants received immediate medical care, followed by thorough ophthalmological examinations, including slit-lamp examination and AS-OCTA imaging. Angiographic parameters were analyzed for both superficial and deep layers of the ocular surface microcirculation in nasal and temporal quadrants.
Results: The study found that increases in deep and superficial vessel diameter indices (VDI) are associated with higher risk of corneal melting and keratitis, respectively, while a decrease in deep VDI is associated with a significantly higher risk of conjunctivalisation. Decreased superficial vessel length density (VLD) and limbal superficial vessel density (VD) are associated with higher risks of corneal opacification. Additionally, limbal ischemia was found to be significantly correlated with longer healing times.
Conclusion: AS-OCTA shows potential as a prognostic tool in ocular chemical injuries. Considering the early changes in angiographic parameters, we can predict specific post-chemical-burn complications.

Aging Biomarker Consortium (ABC), Beijing, China.
The global surge in the population of people 60 years and older, including that in China, challenges healthcare systems with rising age-related diseases. To address this demographic change, the Aging Biomarker Consortium (ABC) has launched the X-Age Project to develop a comprehensive aging evaluation system tailored to the Chinese population. Our goal is to identify robust biomarkers and construct composite aging clocks that capture biological age, defined as an individual's physiological and molecular state, across diverse Chinese cohorts.

Durotaxis, cell migration along stiffness gradients, is linked to embryonic development, tissue repair and disease. Despite solid in vitro evidence, its role in vivo remains largely speculative. Here we demonstrate that durotaxis actively drives disease progression in vivo in mouse models of lung fibrosis and metastatic pancreatic cancer.

The thermosensitive transient receptor potential (Thermo-TRP) channel proteins comprise TRPA1, TRPV1-V4, and TRPM8. TRP channels are mainly situated on cellular surfaces and react to a range of external factors, including heat, cold, acidity, osmotic pressure, chemical signals, and flavors, as well as intracellular signals such as Ca, Na, and cytokines. The thermo-TRP channels are associated with many physiological signal pathways, with their distinct molecular structure making them promising drug targets for respiratory diseases.

Extensive peripheral nerve injuries often lead to the loss of neurological function due to slow regeneration and limited recovery over large gaps. Current clinical interventions, such as nerve guidance conduits (NGCs), face challenges in creating biomimetic microenvironments that effectively support nerve repair. The developed GrooveNeuroTube is composed of hyaluronic acid methacrylate and gelatin methacrylate hydrogel, incorporating active agents (growth factors and antibacterial agents) encapsulated within an NGC conduit made of 3D-printed PCL grid fibers.

The research employed zirconyl oxychloride as a catalyst in a reaction involving pyrazole aldehyde, (thio)urea, and acetyl acetone to establish an aqueous approach for synthesizing 3,4-dihydropyrimidinone derivatives (compounds 4a-j) with potential claims as antidiabetic agents. FT-IR, HR-MS, H NMR and C NMR were employed to analyze the synthesized compounds. The HOMO-LUMO analysis was performed to evaluate the stability of the synthesized derivatives.
