Article Abstract

The individual perception capabilities of autonomous vehicles face significant challenges in overcoming occlusions and achieving long-distance visibility. Consequently, cooperative or collaborative perception (COOP), which can effectively expand the perception field and help to detect the human-driven vehicles or vulnerable road users by leveraging vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication among connected and automated vehicles (CAVs) and roadside units (RSUs), has garnered increasing academic attention in recent years. Despite notable advancements in datasets, simulation platforms, and algorithms, there remains a dearth of research focused on the evaluation and testing methodologies for COOP systems, particularly concerning driving safety. This study proposes a general and effective framework for Risky Testing Scenarios Generation for Cooperative Perception (CoRTSG), which can integrate traffic data and prior knowledge to sequentially produce risky functional, logical, and concrete scenarios. Specific functional scenarios pertinent to COOP are extracted from the traffic crashes due to vision occlusion, thereby defining its operational design domain. Subsequently, by selecting appropriate sites on an OpenDRIVE map, risky logical scenarios are determined. A fast occlusion judgment algorithm is also developed, assigning roles to objects within a logical scenario and employing autoregressive sampling to derive risky concrete scenarios. Accordingly, a comprehensive large-scale library of risky testing scenarios encompassing 11 functional and 17,490 concrete scenarios for COOP in a mixed traffic environment with CAVs, non-CAVs, and vulnerable road users has been created for the first time in literatures. All concrete scenarios have been simulated in the CARLA environment, facilitating thorough testing of representative COOP algorithms in terms of detection accuracy, driving safety, and communication efficiency. The results highlight that COOP significantly enhances driving safety and detection accuracy compared to individual perception, however, further optimization is needed to balance performance with bandwidth requirements and to ensure stable safety improvements. In engineering structure performance monitoring, capturing real-time on-site data and conducting precise analysis are critical for assessing structural condition and safety. However, equipment instability and complex on-site environments often lead to data anomalies and gaps, hindering accurate performance evaluation. This study, conducted within a wind farm reinforcement project in Shandong Province, addresses these challenges by focusing on anomaly detection and data imputation for weld nail strain, anchor cable axial force, and concrete strain.

Resource recycling of construction waste can be an effective substitute for the production of building materials, significantly reduce environmental pollution and ecological damage while lowering carbon emissions. However, existing studies lack a comprehensive and accurate comparison of different recycling processes, making it difficult to fully and accurately determine the associated carbon reduction potential. In this paper, process life cycle assessment (LCA) and hybrid LCA models are used to calculate carbon emissions from resource recycling of construction waste.

Hollow ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) members subjected to axial pre-compression and torsion represent realistic loading scenarios commonly observed in modern engineering structures, including bridge box girders, prestressed members, and high-rise tubular columns. The inclusion of web openings further reflects practical design requirements. However, the combined effect of pre-compression, torsion, and openings on UHPC members remains insufficiently addressed in literature.

Large volumes of concrete wastes are produced during building demolition that potentially can be reused as a secondary material. Reuse of crushed cementitious construction wastes as a fill material can result in leaching of reactive cement phases. The short-term dissolution kinetics of crushed concrete waste (CCW) from a UK nuclear site were studied in leaching tests using deionised water, acidic and alkaline leachants.

AI-Powered Next-Generation Technology for Semiconductor Optical Metrology: A Review.

Micromachines (Basel)

July 2025

Shanghai Precision Measurement Semiconductor Technology, Inc., Shanghai 210700, China.

As semiconductor manufacturing advances into the angstrom-scale era characterized by three-dimensional integration, conventional metrology technologies face fundamental limitations regarding accuracy, speed, and non-destructiveness. Although optical spectroscopy has emerged as a prominent research focus, its application in complex manufacturing scenarios continues to confront significant technical barriers. This review establishes three concrete objectives: To categorize AI-optical spectroscopy integration paradigms spanning forward surrogate modeling, inverse prediction, physics-informed neural networks (PINNs), and multi-level architectures; to benchmark their efficacy against critical industrial metrology challenges including tool-to-tool (T2T) matching and high-aspect-ratio (HAR) structure characterization; and to identify unresolved bottlenecks for guiding next-generation intelligent semiconductor metrology.
