During high-speed maneuvers, aircraft experience rapid distance changes, necessitating high-frame-rate ranging for accurate characterization. However, existing optical ranging technologies often lack simplicity, affordability, and sufficient frame rates. While dual-station triangulation enables high-frame-rate distance calculation via geometry, it suffers from complex and costly deployment. Conventional laser rangefinders are limited by low repetition rates. Single-photon ranging, using high-frequency low-energy pulses and detecting single reflected photons, offers a promising alternative. This study presents a kilohertz-level single-photon ranging system validated through civil aviation field tests. At 1000 Hz, relative distance, velocity, and acceleration were successfully captured. Simulating lower frame rates (100 Hz, 50 Hz, 10 Hz) via misalignment merging revealed standard deviations of 0.1661 m, 0.2361 m, and 0.2683 m, respectively, indicating that higher frame rates enhance distance measurement reproducibility. Error analysis against the 1000 Hz baseline further confirms that high-frame-rate ranging improves precision when monitoring high-speed maneuvers.

Background And Aim: Synthetic dyes in the textile industry pose risks to human health and environmental safety. The current study aims to examine the efficacy of a novel esterase derived from an endophyte fungus in decolorizing diverse dyes, focusing on its production, purification, optimization, and characterization.
Results: Trichoderma afroharzianum AUMC16433, a novel fungal endophyte with esterase-producing ability, was first detected from the cladodes of Opuntia ficus indica by ITS-rRNA sequencing.

Clinical trials of the photovoltaic subretinal prosthesis PRIMA demonstrated feasibility of prosthetic central vision with resolution matching its 100 μm pixel width. To improve prosthetic acuity further, pixel size should be decreased. However, there are multiple challenges, one of which is related to accommodating a compact shunt resistor within each pixel that discharges the electrodes between stimulation pulses and helps increase the contrast of the electric field pattern.

Background: Family violence-comprising both child maltreatment and interparental violence-is a pervasive global public-health concern that disproportionately affects children and adolescents. In China, current and nationally representative prevalence estimates remain scarce, impeding evidence-based prevention.
Objective: This study examines the prevalence and consequences of witnessing only, experiencing only, and concurrently witnessing and experiencing family violence among Chinese children and adolescents, with a specific focus on school bullying.

High rates of mortality of the common cockle, , have occurred in the Wash Estuary, UK, since 2008. A previous study linked the mortalities to a novel genotype of , with a strong correlation between cockle moribundity and the presence of . Here, we characterize a novel iridovirus, identified by chance during metagenomic sequencing of a gradient purification of cells, with the presence also correlated to cockle moribundity.

Imbalances in the mammalian gut are associated with acute and chronic conditions, and using engineered probiotic strains to deliver synthetic constructs to treat them is a promising strategy. However, high rates of mutational escape and genetic instability limit the effectiveness of biocontainment circuits needed for safe and effective use. Here, we describe STALEMATE (equence enngd ulti lyered geneic buffring), a dual-layered failsafe biocontainment strategy that entangles genetic sequences to create pseudoessentiality and buffer against mutations.
