Article Abstract

Following the publication of the above article, a concerned reader drew to the Editor's attention that, regarding the western blots shown in Fig. 4A on p. 9632, there was a possible break in the continuity of the gel slice representing the β‑actin bands in this figure, such that the protein bands were not shown consecutively as they would have appeared in the affected gel slice. After having conducted an internal investigation, it became apparent that other western blots were potentially affected by the same issue (for example, the data shown in Fig. 4C). The Editor of therefore shares the reader's concern that, beyond reasonable doubt, there were anomalies associated with the presentation of the western blot data in Fig. 4, and on the grounds of a lack of confidence in the presented data, the Editor has decided that the article should be retracted from the publication. The authors were asked for an explanation to account for these concerns, but the Editorial Office did not receive a reply. The Editor apologizes to the readership for any inconvenience caused, and we also thank the reader for bringing this matter to our attention. Objective: CircRNAs are involved in cancer progression. However, their role in immune escape in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) remains poorly understood.

Methods: This study employed RIP-seq for the targeted enrichment of circRNAs, followed by Western blotting and RT-qPCR to confirm their expression.

Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is an aggressive malignancy with a poor prognosis. Abnormal expression of focal adhesion kinase (FAK) is closely linked to NSCLC progression, highlighting the need for effective FAK inhibitors in NSCLC treatment. In this study we conducted high-throughput virtual screening combined with cellular assays to identify potential FAK inhibitors for NSCLC treatment.

NR1I3 inhibits colorectal cancer growth by enhancing PCK1-mediated gluconeogenesis.

There is increasing evidence that nuclear receptor subfamily 1 group I member 3 (NR1I3) plays a significant role in the progression of many malignancies. However, it is unclear whether NR1I3 suppresses colorectal cancer (CRC) growth or alters gluconeogenesis. Western blotting, flow cytometry analysis, cell proliferation, colony formation assays, quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT‒PCR), gluconeogenesis tests, and animal models were used to examine the functional role of NR1I3 in CRC cells.

Coal worker pneumoconiosis is an occupational pulmonary fibrosis (PF) caused by prolonged exposure to respirable coal dust (CD), with limited therapeutic options. Here, we explored the antifibrotic effects of metformin (Met) in CD-nanoparticle (CD-NP)-induced PF, focusing on its preventive and therapeutic potential. In vivo, Met was administered at different doses (low: 31.
