Colon cancer (CC) is a major global health menace, with its progression linked to immune cell activity in the tumor microenvironment (TME). A nanocarrier-based drug immunotherapy can effectively treat CC while reducing the toxicity of drug delivery systems. Here, a strategy for delivering antitumor agents to trigger immunogenic cell death (ICD) of tumor cells was demonstrated, enhancing the treatment of CC. Specifically, pH-sensitive nanoparticles (RPP NPs) were constructed utilizing poly (β-amino ester)-grafted polyetherimide (PBAE-PEI, PP) nanoparticles encapsulated resveratrol (RES). The drug delivery system exhibited good formulation characteristics and biocompatibility, enhancing RES release with pH reduction. Importantly, carrier PP showed weak cytotoxicity, whereas RPP NPs significantly inhibited cell growth. Meanwhile, after cellular endocytosis, RPP NPs could achieve lysosomal escape, rapidly releasing RES. Moreover, RPP NPs may elicit damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs) in CT26 cells via affecting organelle function, subsequently promoting the maturation of peripheral dendritic cells (DCs), and enhancing anti-cancer immunity. Consequently, RPP NPs demonstrated RES-mediated ICD activation in cancer cells, potentially offering a novel anti-CC therapeutic strategy.

Introduction One of the most common health issues that the global population is dealing with is the associated complications of diabetes, which encompasses cataracts, peripheral neuropathy, vascular damage, impaired wound healing, retinal issues, and arterial wall stiffening. The present study is aimed to evaluate the effect of dark chocolate and its assisted zinc oxide nanoparticles against diabetes-associated complications. Materials and methods Zinc oxide nanoparticles were synthesized using commercially dark chocolate (DC-ZnO NP).

The GenMark Dx ePlex Respiratory Pathogen Panel (RP) is a multiplexed nucleic acid test for the qualitative detection of common viral and a few bacterial causes of respiratory tract infections. The ePlex RP has received FDA clearance for nasopharyngeal swab (NPS) specimens collected in viral transport media. In this study, we evaluated the performance of the ePlex RP panel in comparison to the NxTAG Respiratory Pathogen Panel (NxTAG-RPP) from Luminex in use in our laboratory, not only for NPS but also for bronchoalveolar lavage specimens (BAL).

Nanoplastics (NPs), mainly originated from weathering of microplastics, are ubiquitous throughout the world. However, the environmentally released NPs are still under debate due to the lack of direct proof for the chemical identification of individual nanoparticles. Here, we show an observational evidence of release of heterogeneous NPs from recycled PVC powders (RPP) using a nondestructive analytical method, namely, correlative Raman imaging and scanning electron (RISE) microscopy.

In consideration of the close connection between glycopeptides and human diseases, the efficient method to separate and enrich glycopeptides from complex biological samples is urgently required. In the work, we developed a magnetic zwitterionic-hydrophilic material for highly effective separation and analysis of glycopeptides from complex samples. The FeO particles were covered with a thick layer of polymer by one-step reflux-precipitation polymerization (RPP), subsequently decorated by Au nanoparticles (Au NPs) through in situ reduction and finally modified with zwitterionic groups.
