Article Abstract

BackgroundConsolidated, multidisciplinary care for children with cleft palates and craniofacial conditions is ideal, but no-shows and same-day-cancellations hinder such clinics.SolutionAdditional appointment reminders were ineffective, so we have initiated discussions with our hospital system and electronic medical record provider to implement a predictive risk model for patient non-attendance.What I/we did that is newOur innovative approach focuses on evaluating factors related to clinic non-attendance and engaging stakeholders in designing interventions aimed at increasing patient attendance and clinic utilization.

Background: Acute viral respiratory infections (AVRIs) rank among the most common causes of hospitalisation worldwide, imposing significant healthcare burdens and driving the development of pharmacological treatments. However, inconsistent outcome reporting across clinical trials limits evidence synthesis and its translation into clinical practice. A core outcome set (COS) for pharmacological treatments in hospitalised adults with AVRIs is essential to standardise trial outcomes and improve research comparability.

Routine growth monitoring includes plotting children on World Health Organization or Centers for Disease Control and Prevention charts that have primarily been developed on typical, healthy populations. However, it is advisable to plot children with known genetic conditions on specialized growth curves (SGCs) when they are available. In this review, we highlight the most common genetic conditions for which SGCs are available, clinical reasons to use SGCs based on specific rare diseases, and how these SGCs can be found.

Introduction: Amivantamab plus lazertinib significantly improved progression-free and overall survival versus osimertinib in patients with previously untreated, EGFR-mutant advanced NSCLC. EGFR-targeted therapies are associated with dermatologic adverse events (AEs), which can affect quality of life (QoL). COCOON was conducted to assess prophylactic management and improve treatment experience.
